Who is your hero and why? (Someone other than a relative)
A public heroine
In my old neighborhood of Alamar (Cuba) lives an 80 year old lady whose name is Miriam. This lady was a single mother and raised her two sons, one of them disabled, turning them into great men today.
At 80 years old, Miriam works as a cleaning assistant in a restaurant, lives alone and supports herself, without asking anyone for help.
I consider Miriam a heroine because very few people reach her age with such strength and vitality. She gets up to work early every day. She grooms herself, takes care of her skin, cleans her house, helps her family and has a good relationship with her neighbors. She raised one of her granddaughters and helped her become a musician. She has her own farm where she grows bananas viands and fruits . She talks and does not argue with anyone, she is very nice. I consider her to be an example of a Cuban woman.
Do you people-watch and if so what do you get from it, deduce or conclude? Explain with examples.
I like observing people
I like to observe people in general and learn good things from them, because I can learn to express myself with a certain and enriched language, and to analyze the world. I am not going to copy the bad. I also like to observe how certain people dress because of their good taste. I also look at the girls' hairstyles and make-up, but I like to look at the grandparents more.
I like to see grandparents helping each other, like when they carry a load of food between them or when they help each other get on and off a public bus. That is something admirable and does not exist in other countries. I love to see how grandparents take their grandchildren to the park, spend time with them and how some grandmothers make an effort to give food and water to stray animals.
I am from the time when grandparents taught male grandchildren to drink, smoke and then the grandchildren decided whether they liked it or not. Before, grandparents taught grandchildren how to fall in love with girls, how to avoid diseases and how not to get a woman pregnant. And grandmothers taught their granddaughters how to dress, live healthy and behave in public.
Before, most grandmothers wanted to be super-grandmothers; it was common to hear them say something like that. Now, grandparents suffer, argue with young people and criticize them because life has changed and the sense of kindness, touch and love has been lost.
I have two grandparents neighbors who are people I help whenever I can. They take great care of nature, they water the flowers in the garden of the building where we live, they weed the garden and pick up the garbage. In short, they take care of the planet.
Let's take care of our grandparents! They are an inexhaustible source of experience and wisdom!
