I did not like to eat anything special; I preferred to eat whatever was easily available.
I didn't have any food preferences or dislikes, and I didn't throw temper tantrums.
so I was the most liked person in my family, owing to my rural upbringing.
I was very fond of travelling. Whenever I got a chance, I used to go for a walk alone or with my friends.
When we found the time and on the holidays, me and my friends used to go to forests, any hill stations,
When we found the time, we walked along the riverbanks or along the seashore.
Once, we made our plan to go by car to the nearest rafting centre to enjoy some rafting, bungee jumping, and horse riding.
First, we made all the preparations for this journey.
We had decided amongst ourselves that we would eat and drink at whichever small, cheap restaurant or bar,
We could find a way to enjoy the journey.
On the decided date, we started the journey. The distance of the journey was about 600 km from one side.
Our departure journey was very smooth, without facing any problems. We enjoyed a lot of this.
We reached our destination safely and enjoyed ourselves as per the plans we had made. We were all very happy.
But while coming back, we did not prove to be so lucky. We had to face many troubles. But we took these troubles as a challenge and enjoyed them too.
Thus, when we were almost halfway back, the rear tyre of our car was hit by a sharp stone and the tyre burst.
When we saw the reserve tyre fitted in the car to replace the tyre, we found that there was no air in it either.
Unfortunately, we were in a place from which no village or town was close by. For the adventure, we also chose a path that was not a highway but a deserted and desolate road.
So we were very scared about what we would do to change the tyre in this desolate place.
After some time, a motorcyclist was passing by, and we stopped him. We told him our problems.
He said that there was a place to fix the tyre puncture at a distance of 20 kilometres from here.
He also said that any of you can come with me on my motorcycle to repair your tyre but to come back from there, you have to make arrangements yourself.
I told a friend that you go there to fix the tyre puncher and, at the time of returning, bring some food and drinks from there as well because we were all very hungry.
After about two hours, that friend came back with another person
after fixing the tyre puncture.
We were all very hungry. But he informed them that he had not found anything cooked, but he brought some raw vegetables, wheat flour, and some oil from there.
I said that both of you change the tyres while helping each other. In the meantime, I am going to cook some special rural food for us because I am going to die hungry.
Then I did what I had learned from my grandmom years ago in my grandfather's village.
I put the wheat flour in a bowl, and fortunately, this bowl was found kept in the car, mixed with water, and made some balls from that dough.
After that, I made a one-foot-deep pit on the roadside ground with the help of a scissor and a screwdriver, which I found kept in the car with the repairing tools.
..Inside this pit, I made the fire from wood that was collected from the trees, and this wood became coal and hot ashes after burning.
Now I put flour balls, raw potatoes, brinjal, and tomatoes in the middle of this ash and coals. Then I cover the ash and coals again on top of them.
After about 20 minutes, I checked the pit and found that all the raw materials were well roasted.
With the help of a handkerchief, I left the flour balls lying in the same ash and took out the rest of the vegetables and removed their ashes.
After cooling a little, I mashed all these things by hand and put them in the bowl.
I found salt and chilli powder in the car to use on the way, and I mixed that salt and chilli powder in with the mashed material, as well as some oil brought by my friend, with the other things.
On the top of this prepared recipe, I also mixed some very finely chopped coriander and onion, which were chopped by scissors. Now our very special recipe was ready to eat.
We took out the balls of flour from the ashes and cleaned all the balls with a handkerchief.
A very good smell was coming from these flour balls. All these were cooked very well and were delicious too, but due to fatigue and hunger, we found the dish cooked in this way even more delicious.
So we ate this food with a deep heart and happiness and enjoyed it too much. After taking this, we started the rest of the journey.
