That's why my cigarette smoking started, first in order to look smart, then it became a habit, and then something happened that my cigarette smoking addiction turned into chain smoking. I Started smoking 5-6 box cigarettes (about 55-60) daily throughout the day. This whole series would have continued if something had not happened that proved to be a boon for me.
I have told many times before that I was an administrative officer in the medical health department, and the chief officer of my hospital was the chief medical director.
On this post, a doctor was posted in my hospital who was junior to me in age and service but was very senior in position. While always senior officers in age and service used to come to this post. For this reason, keeping regard of my age in mind, this officer used to come to my room and consult me instead of calling me to his room to talk about some work.
I had also requested him many times please call me in your office and not to come to my office but he was very gentlemanly. One day he told me very politely that he feels that I am a cigarette smoker, and he is very allergic to cigarette smoke, and whenever he comes to my room, he feels like vomiting. Then he very politely requested me to stop smoking as soon as possible and also said that it is good for me too.
I was very much impressed by his politeness and advice and I assured him that after today I will not touch cigarettes while sitting in the office and then to live up to my trust, I stopped smoking cigarettes in the office.
And on some days, if there was a lot of cigarette pond, then after getting up from the office, he used to smoke one or half a cigarette sitting in the park of the hospital.
But due to excessive work and busyness, it was not possible to go out every day for many days to smoke cigarettes and in this way, I got rid of the bad habit of smoking cigarettes.
That's why even today I respect this humble, decent, and calm officer from the bottom of my heart, on whose one request I got rid of such an old addiction.
May God give him long life and health, this is my prayer.
Sharing here a picture taken with him on the occasion of an event.
