🍴 Burning food
That's the only topic I've chosen because I'm pretty grieved about it. I will tell you how a simple mistake affected the chain reactions and my life.
My life has always been lonely after high school, and I have always loved solitude. After my education life ended, I started my own business by coincidence after a few job trials.
Before starting my own business, I worked in seasonal and short-experienced jobs for short periods of time. What I'm about to tell belongs to those times.
I was starting a new life with a new job in a new city. I bought a house with only one room and bathroom. The room was designed in the style of a kitchen and living room, with ideal comfort for a person's life.
One night when I was working and coming home tired from work, I wanted to fry some potatoes for myself.
I peeled the potatoes, heated the oil, and added the washed, chopped potatoes to the oil. I sat on the chair, put my feet on the coffee table, and I don't remember what happened next.
After a certain time I awoke to a foul odor and a black smoke that had taken over the upper part of the room.
The oil in the pan caught fire and caused the aspirator to burn first and then the upper cabinet of the aspirator. The electric fuses from the plug of the hood had been deactivated, and the room was filled with smoke and darkness. Only the burning pan and the fire in the upper cabinet could be seen.
Since the fountain is close, I put out the fire with the help of a towel that I immediately moistened and opened the door and windows. Actually, the burning place and the fire were not very big, but the whole room was covered with an extremely bad smell of soot.
The fire was extinguished without any outside intervention, but it was impossible to breathe properly inside. Despite this, I remained in the room with the door and windows open.
In the morning the view was clearer. I could clearly see the burn marks that I couldn't see as a result of blown fuses. A few pieces of the potatoes remained, which looked like coals.
I explained the situation to my landlord, and I was relieved when he said that we could solve the problem ourselves as he did not have any insurance.
Although the room was ventilated all night, the smell of soot still remained at the same intensity. Because of the smell, we took the curtains off and gave them to wash. We called home furniture and upholstery washing service to have some furniture washed. We called a carpenter to fix the burning cabinet. We repainted the wooden cabinet and door to completely remove the smell of smoke. We renewed the wall paint of the room and finished all the work.
Now that I was comfortable and happy that the problem had been resolved, my landlord asked me to vacate the room within a few days. Although we had a lease agreement, there was nothing I could do because I had such a problem. It was perfectly normal for him to ask me to leave the house, but it was not elegant for him not to tell me during the process of cleaning the whole room.
With the comfort of the seasonality of the job, I took my clothes and emptied the room, and using the house problem as an excuse, I left work and returned to my own city.
This and my next 1 month temporary job is one of the important factors in running my own business today. The village where I was born, the city I live in and being with the same people for years is one of the most important factors in my love for my job.
I'll say it again for those who are wondering. I am a food supplier for people and livestock.
Now I get my fries ready fried or I get support from my mother in this regard, as in other dishes.
After all the experiences I've had, the only advice I can give is;
"The stone is heavy in place"
