It's been a cold and wet Saturday today and in different circumstances it could have been deemed miserable...but no day spent at the race track with racing cars is miserable to me.
It all started yesterday when we loaded up the hauler with the car, wheels and tyres, tools, fuel and the many other things required to start, run and make a race car go fast. The loading isn't much fun but knowing what's coming later, racing cars around a track, makes it easy to do.
Today we prepped the car from the early morning for some running and...nothing; it wouldn't run.
No worries though, the boffins who know what's up with the technical aspects of a race car did what they do (computers do most of the work these days) and an hour later an installation lap was completed and after a full check over back in the garage to make sure all was good it was time to turn some laps - fast laps and lots of them.
It's much later on Saturday and I'm feeling awesome pretty tired and my old bones are a bit sore but the excitement of racing cars lingers as does the enjoyment I felt out there today. A perfect way to spend Saturday? Yeah I'd say so.
