G-dog's good time
I'm going say my playing-career between twenty and thirty years of age when I was playing American Football. I was very fit, hit like a steam-train and was reasonable at my position as an outside line backer on the defensive team before working on speed and agility in an off-season and switching over to full-back on the offensive team carrying the ball and scoring touch-downs. No, I didn't do touch-down dances. G-dog does not dance. 😁
I made State-team selection a few times and despite the hard work, practice and gym-work plus the inability to move much the day after game-day each week I really enjoyed the feeling of invincibility, confidence on the field and the rush of the hard-hitting physical contact. Of course, I wasn't invincible and several injuries and an operation later, at the decrepit old age of thirty, I finally let the younger lads have the field.
I was a team Captain, a leader, and throughout my playing career I honed and developed those skills into those I deploy to this day in a similar role. At the time it was about the game, the brutality, exhilaration and triumph of winning, of dominating and being feared on that field...But now I know it was much more than that - I was building life skills and they linger now, and pay dividends. Wisdom gained through experience.
Yip, good times indeed.
So that's the topic for this week folks. You have until very late Sunday night your time to get your response in and I hope you'll engage with it this week because it'll be good to see you around over the weekend. If not that's ok too I hope you have a great weekend regardless.
Design and create your ideal life, don't live it by default - Tomorrow isn't promised so be humble and kind
