Yep, you read it well. I have been laying in a hospital in Malaga for the last 6 days now. I woke up Thursday morning with a little back pain, but soon after that, I couldn't stand up, sit down, or even lay down anymore. My neighbors on the camper spot saw me struggling and asked if he could help. I haven't got a big camper van, so I asked if I could lay down in his van. After an hour laying there he realized it was not good and he brought me to the nearest hospital.
I really cried while going there, I really couldn't handle this amount of pain. After dealing with stubborn insurance, they finally took me in, and they gave me some pain killer to just see if that would help. But no. The morphine they gave me wasn't enough. Luckily, they had some good sleeping pills, so that night, I was totally down.
The next day, they tried it again with morphine but still too much pain. Eventually, they gave me Valium. Finally, I was pain-free. And high a.f. 😅🙈
It's a very busy weekend here because of the Easter holidays. Many people are free of work, even in the hospital, and many tourists come to visit the city. Sunday afternoon, they finally took an MRI scan of my back.
Monday April 10th, it's my birthday... and I got a big present. Because of the medication that I get, my intestines don't work properly anymore. So I haven't taken a 💩 in 5 days now 🙈 So they gave me a "drink" for my birthday that flushes it all out.
The second present was the result of the MRI, and just as I suspected, I have got a hernia in my lower back. Between L5 and L4.
It's so strange to hear the news while you are laying in a hospital 2250km from home, alone, on your birthday...!
Now we are going to building of the amount of pain medication to see if the pain is less or totally gone after laying down for 6 days. If so. I can slowly can think of driving back home. My van is parked outside of the hospital in a camper van parking spot. I can see him if I look out of the window of the hospital hallway.
Here are a couple of pictures that I took inside here. My room and the view of my windows.
If I walk out the room in to the hallway and walk right, i can see the camper parking area. And underneath the tree I can see my van. This is also the sunset side.
The other side of the hallway is a residential area. Not that spectacular.
The dinner i have got was very very good. Here are some dishes i took a picture of. The soups I got weren't that good but that's typist spain I think. They are not a spot l soup county.
