Hi, Hive Community friends that I love. I hope you stay healthy and enthusiastic about every activity. Today, I will share a little of my experience last Sunday. So, a punk rock band from Jakarta is holding Tour Gigs in several cities. One of their gigs tours is Medan City. The city where I live today. Even though I don't come from the city of Medan, I quite love this city because it is full of diversity.
Back on topic, this touring band teamed up with an event organizer from the punk community, holding a gigs concert at a coffee shop. The gigs punk event was also enlivened by several local bands from the city of Medan. Even, my band was one of those who enlivened the gigs. For information, the bands that play at the Gigs event are not celebrity bands, so no one is paid for this event.
Gigs Punk is a collective event built by the people who support it, including every band who paid 100K IDR (6.72 USD) as a form of support for this Gigs punk event. People who come to watch the concert also pay an entrance ticket of 25K IDR (1.68 USD). The money was collected from the band's collective fees and tickets to pay for the rental of venues and musical instruments including the sound system. Below are some of the photos I took at the Gigs event yesterday.
The event took place from 04.00 pm to 10.00 pm, and the first band to perform was my band. My friend and I came at 03.00 pm, at that time the musical instruments and sound system were still being prepared and prepared. While waiting, my friend and I ordered coffee that was there, because the event took place at a coffee shop. The atmosphere in this coffee shop is quite comfortable, the taste of the coffee is good, and the price is also not expensive. I was there only until 07.00 pm. Actually, I want to watch the show Gigs to the end. But, at 7 pm, my head was dizzy because indeed I had just recovered from illness. I couldn't watch the Gigs until it was over because I had to rest to heal my dizzy head.
That was a little story about my experience when I was at a punk gig. I hope at the next punk gig, I can watch the concert until it's finished. Thank you for taking the time to read. Nice to meet you.
