We took a drive up to the west coast of Scotland today right through the Trossachs and into Argyll - the scenery was pretty awesome !
Thats Connel Bridge, its a mecano masterpiece ! It always looks pretty spectacular !
Above is the view looking up Glenogle with the Glen Ogle Viaduct up on the hillside. We are still seeing the autumn colours at this time of year - it was beautiful against the lovely blue sky.
The view above is at the head of Loch Awe. I was trying to get Kilchurn Castle, but its hidden in the trees, however I like the pic of the boglands here anyway !
We noticed this odd cloud formation on the way back in the afternoon - I'm pretty sure thats a localised snow shower ! The temperature was dropping by late afternoon, and it was starting to snow in places - although very light !
This is the view out across the Firth of Lorne from Connel. The faint mountains at the left is the Isle of Mull - and you can also see the Isle of Lismore in this pic - its just before the mountains at the back in the middle. The mountains in the middle are still Scottish mainland - a remote area called Morvern.
This view was taken just before the village of Taynuilt - it looks up Glen Etive. The peak with the snow on the right is Ben Cruachan.
I think thats Ben More above - the one near Crianlarich (there are quite a few Ben Mores in Scotland - we got bored of making up new names for mountains).
And above is a view to some snow frosted hills just above Locahn na Bi, just beyond Tyndrum.
We really did love the drive - it was great to see a lovely blue skies sunny day, even if it did get cold and start snowing later in the evening ! A lovely way to wrap up the weekend !
All the best from Scotland !
