Greetings dear friends. Reading the interesting proposals of friend in Weekend Engagement Topics: WEEK 227, of the 6 proposals, I chose the following:
Own a dog or a cat - Which would you choose and why? Use your own photos.
Since I was a child there have always been dogs at home. When I could remember, maybe when I was 4 years old, I remember that at home there were three dogs, two males and a female named Nunú. The other two were Bambam and Cutin, they lived for many years until one by one they left us, seeing them leave was painful. I always heard my mother say that she didn't like cats, not even to scare away mice, so we never had one. So I grew up in an environment surrounded by dogs, I really liked when they had puppies, they are very cute and I liked to play with them. I waited anxiously for them to open their eyes, then came the hard part, when it was time to give them all away. The bond I formed with them was incredible, every time a puppy was given away I couldn't help crying.
I would choose a dog because they are from home, they are more domestic, more attached to us humans, they are loyal, faithful and noble. A dog only needs a gesture to begin to love us and turn us into his world. It can be a caress, a word of love, water or food, from that moment on you will no longer be a stranger to them and a deep and unbreakable bond will begin until the end of their days. With cats you have to make an effort, they don't like everybody, they don't like everybody, so they are the ones who choose the people they want to get close to so they can give them affection.
Cats are independent, they are not attached to us, they are more outdoorsy, from life. However, that does not mean that someone cannot form a bond with a cat. I think that breeding is determinant, but also the personality of each pet, I have had dogs with a very cold character, while others have been very affectionate and more attached to us. I would choose a dog because he is more expressive, when I get home I will see him euphoric with joy wagging his tail, his welcome has no comparison. When I would go on a trip and spend time without seeing me, my dog would even cry with emotion.
I think cats are colder when it comes to emotions, however, I think it all depends on their personality, their upbringing perhaps and who they have chosen to give love to. My dogs accompany me wherever I go, I even talk about them following me inside the house, when I watch TV, they lie very close to me and do the same while I am working. My two dogs, Muñeca and Coco, were living on the street and I gave them a home, I would like to help many more. I am part of the pack, the three of us play and it is a wonderful and amazing time. I love animals and although I prefer a dog, I can't help but be fond of cats and dogs that cross my path. I am one of those who greet dogs and cats on the street, I even stop to give them a caress and if I have some food, I give them some too. I definitely love animals, but I would choose a dog.
