Before I get engaged in blogging, I often hear the term "SEO" in every vlogger who share their knowledge on how to earn money online. It is something that always caught my interest. In my comprehension, SEO stands for "Search Engine Optimization." It refers to optimizing a website or online content to rank well on search engine results pages. For instance, if your content appears organically as the top result when someone searches for "best shoes," you have effectively optimized it.
With the skills I have developed throughout my blogging career and educational journey, I believe learning SEO will be my advantage. For my two years of blogging experience, I have had the opportunity to connect with different bloggers even though I was not yet in this blockchain. I have met two individuals who have successfully transitioned into freelancing. What truly impresses me is that they now earn five to six figures per month, which motivates me to pursue that skill too.
One of the bloggers I knew has become a Wikipedia writer on Upwork. She is specialized in writing biographies to help her clients promote themselves and enhance their reputations. On the other hand, the second blogger I knew has already established herself as a skilled writer in the same freelancing site. She has fluent skills in writing SEO content and has experience producing different content. I have interacted with them once or twice, and they said they started getting clients because of their blogging experience.
Therefore, if they can do it with their experience in blogging, what's the reason not to try my luck? I was also inspired by TikTok users who share their success in terms of freelancing. Their niches are virtual assistants, graphic designers, Shopify Assistants, video editors, and more. I am usually emotionally driven to be one of them whenever I see their income. I also joined some groups about those online jobs and can't help but feel that I hope to earn like them someday. But for now, having that opportunity will be only written in my dreams.
It is the reason why I bought online courses I saw on Facebook. It is a bit expensive, but I should consider it an investment. The first online course I bought at what I saw in the Facebook ad around less than $4. Because of that course, I know about the basic jobs of being a VA and entry-level tasks. Project Management is something that I think is my greatest asset, as I know how to manage different activities. Unfortunately, my skills were insufficient because I knew little about data entry.
Meanwhile, I think I bought this copywriting set for only less than $6. I have already finished Advanced Copywriting, where I learned how copywriting works. However, I got bored with the speaker because of her tone and not a beginner-friendly module. I'm now watching Alan Sharpe's B2B Content Writing, and I like how he delivers his tutorials. However, after finishing two modules, I decided to stop.
Of course, I have reasons why I stopped learning those skills. The first thing is that I don't have a valid ID. I discovered that I won't get into freelance right now because I don't have an ID, although let's say that I am willing to upskill. I just realized that after reading a post about the group I joined. The second but not least is that I'm busy with my studies. I can't even face my account here, so how could I face my client?
Therefore, if I have a single thing that I could study, it would be SEO. But as I also stated, it is not yet the right time. I guess focusing on my studies and growth here would be better. I'm already contented with my side hustles, although I sometimes earn cents as I can leave it whenever I want. My side hustles allow me to return whenever I want to, compared to seeking an online job that I can't just leave. It would be best if you were entirely responsible, which I'm not yet ready for.
