Another day to be thankful for!! Hello everyone.
Another weekend to look forward to. The kids are excited for today's adventure. They will have their bicycle ride.
We encourage our youngsters to engage in any activities and support them in whatever they want to do. We would like them to be more athletic and expose them to any events outside the community so they do not focus on gadgets that might result in various ailments. They are very young and have so much to work on.
They prepared early, check their bikes and bring water for rehydration. The gears are on, and we are set to go.
We kicked off at around 9 in the morning, yes late already but it was a gloomy day so we will not have to worry about the glare of the sun.
Three of my nephews will be riding their bikes while I and my kids will be riding our motorcycle and so is my sister together with her husband and their other son. We will be following the kids on their trail.
Start of our journey
We entered Bogo City as it is only 4 kilometres away from home and approximately 10 minutes ride only because it is a downhill ride.
We stop over at this beautiful place with mountains as background located at Sitio San Antonio, Brgy. Binabag, Bogo City. The kids can rest for a while.
We took our detour to Bogo City Hall. The kids enjoyed their ride there because of the minimal vehicle travelling in this place during weekends.
To my surprise, Camella Homes were located in the vicinity of Bogo City Hall (lol). Another photo op for the kids. Still, the weather is very nice even though it is about noon already.
As we continue the trail, the track already getting harder because of the uphills. The kids are trying their best to climb up with all their strength. This will make them more stable and focused on their activity.
Lunchtime and rest
We bring rice with us so we will just only buy viand from the store. The kids chose to have fried chicken, more convenient to eat and of course their favourite.
We ate our lunch and at the same time, the kids have time to chat about what they have experienced from our travel. What are their observations on their bikes and how they will improve them? They also tackled the routes they want to explore.
After 30 minutes of rest, we go ahead with our journey. We entered the municipality of San Remigio. In the mid of this municipality, you will find Barangay Tambongon which will lead you to this scenic view. We took a deep breath, feeling the calm breeze of the sea, refreshed and we continued.
Another amazing view of our path is this road of Brgy. Busogon, San Remigio, Cebu. The kids paddle very fast in this area. A very long wide range road that connects to the municipality of Tabuelan.
Another Short Break
At this point, the kids are exhausted already and requested to take a break. While they are resting and enjoying the breathtaking view of the ocean, my brother-in-law checked their bicycles.
Another Municipality
Welcome to the municipality of Tabuelan, the 3rd municipality that we will be conquering. This municipality has a mountainous site. So good luck to the kids.
The Uphills and Challenges
As we enter this road, the kids are already wowed by the uphill track. This is the beginning of the uphills and the children are already struggling to paddle their bikes. We can see them from behind but let them continue and push them to their limits.
They will be pushed by my brother-in-law when they call for reinforcement. They often stopped and pushed their bikes alone.
We are halfway there. But I think someone is missing. Can you guess what happened to him? Hehe.
We appreciate this picture, in the middle of nowhere, there was this kind of image. And we can even hear a videoke playing amid this mountain. This is located at Brgy. Tabunok, Municipality of Tabuelan a full mountainous barangay.
And here is the missing kid, having his tire repaired. It got flat and needs to be changed, but unfortunately, we haven't brought any spare interior. They found a vulcanizing shop, so we just waited for it to be fixed. It is late afternoon already, and the kids are tired but we are still in a long way to run.
As we thought that the tire was fixed, we started our journey again. But 5 minutes later, it burst again. So we decided to load it on the motorcycle, so we will not be delayed with our travel time because it was getting late already.
We inquire in every shop we passed if they sell rubber for the tire, but unfortunately, none of them had it. So just continue our trail with one bike loaded on the motorcycle (adding more burden to the trail).
The beginning of the end
As we crossed our path back to San Remigio and this sign appears, it was a relief for us all - for all we know we are near home already. Everyone was smiling already because after this signage we are stepping into our municipality of Tabogon again.
And so we end this long bike trail with a dinner here at Manang Terry's Bbqhan located at Brgy. Ilihan, Tabogon, Cebu.
Realization
Every event of our lives has its lesson to be given to us. It depends on how we handle it. We have to be prepared always and no matter what never give up and never surrender. We may not face it alone and need to be carried by others but in the end, we can stand on our own. And the next time we travel we know already what to prepare, and what to bring and we are ready again for the challenges that we may encounter. We have to be fully equipped whether in things that we do or in our everyday lives.
That is all for our weekend, hope you enjoy reading.
