Hi dear community, how was your weekend? I hope it was good. Mine was very busy, as you know I was in Gibara and I almost met all my goals, but I didn't have time for the ones I wanted to do the most, like going to Los Bajos beach, a natural paradise, without tourism, just beach, pigs on the shore, yes as you read it, pigs that walk around freely, and bathe on the beach 😅, it will be for the next time I visit and bring you photos.
On Friday I bathed in La Vallado beach, which is the first one when you get to Gibara, it is characterized by having no waves, and at this time I love it because there are almost no people who visit it and I had it practically for myself, the only detail to highlight is that it had a lot of seaweed, but I still enjoyed it a lot.
On Saturday I started my walk around the city early, going up the stairs of the Los Caneyes viewpoint, one of the highest and most emblematic points of the city, which anyone who visits it should not fail to climb and take spectacular photos.
In addition to enjoy a unique landscape, sale of local crafts and gastronomic offers of Creole food.
Then I went down and moved to El Init beach, from which you can enjoy the La Marlin pier of the viewpoint and the ferry to San Antonio. Where I could enjoy beer and a delicious caipirinha, accompanied by the sea breeze.
In addition to a small but quiet beach with little waves also, which has lifeguards and rental of small catamarans.
It was an excellent weekend, I always enjoy my own company a lot, and the quiet places, the kindness of the people I'm meeting while walking. On the next adventure I hope to bring you my story on the Caletones beach too.
