Hi, you all!
Hope you're having the most wonderful time of the year!
It's the last weekend of 2023. Phew! Time really flies!
I think we all agree that spending new years eve around our family is very important.
Well, although last year I spent it will my whole family, this year is different. My two sisters are far away, and my nieces too. So, this year it is only my mom, my stepfather, and I.
I can say that I feel the absence of my sisters, but what are we gonna do?
For this year we are going to make our traditional Christmas dinner. It is something like we did on Christmas Eve. Only the three of us cooking, cleaning and chatting about our day, and making jokes.
My mom already cooked the stew for the Hallacas. She likes to do it a day before because she says it gets more tasty for the next day.
I'm thinking about going and buy a cheap wine to make a toast during dinner, and maybe I will go to my aunt's to spend some time there.
This new year comes with the absence of my baby niece Emma, whom I miss so much. I bonded with her in her first ten months and now that she's away, theres no day I don't think about her. I thought that we would spend Christmas with my sister's family, but she left the country a month ago.
I know I will cry.
I can't show you photos from the future, but at least I can show you how it is gonna be. The silver lining of this Christmas is that it could've be worse.
