My most highlighted escapade this year is perhaps our trip to Sumilon Island. Summer is what i always look forward to every year. The beautiful beach and white sand in this place is like no other.
This is also one of my longest trip in Cebu. We traveled 4 hours going to Oslob Cebu via land trip. By the time we arrive Oslob, it was lunch time so we ate lunch at Cocina En Acantilado. There are limited restaurants in Oslob and this restaurant had good reviews so we tried their food for lunch.
It was past 1pm when we're about to ride a bangka (or mini boat) going to Sumilon Island. This is a small island located around Oslob.
Upon arriving, we immediately check in to our rooms at Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort. This is a privately owned and the only resort in sumilon island. However, tourist may still swim in the beach without paying for the hotel accommodation.
It was a sunny afternoon so we decided to have siesta time inside our room while looking at the beautiful view outside.
There are many activities we can do in sumilon but due to limited time, we are ought to use our time in the best way we can.
Swimming
When the heat of the sun gradually died down, we went swimming in the beach. Honestly, i don't know how to swim so i made sure to secure a life vest and stayed near the shore.
Island Trekking
After swimming, we decided to go for a quick trekking to their thick protected forest. We also passed their botanical garden. I enjoyed looking at their mangroves and other kinds of trees along the trail. My nature loving self is so happy.
Dinner was at Pulo Restaurant inside the resort. This buffet restaurant serve different cuisines in a kubo style interior.
We then transfer to a cocktail bar area where we have activities and fun games. The theme of our outing was Hawaiian Night. My drink of choice was Pina Colada just because the bartender said that it's the sweetest drink among all the options. It was a fun night filled with games and presentations. The new hires rendered a song collaboration.
Kayaking & Pedal Boating
The next morning, we tried kayaking at the lagoon. Unfortunately, the water was too dirty for us to swim. Looking at other people, it seem so easy to paddle. But when i tried it myself, boy was i wrong. This is a serious water sport. Some of us tried pedal boating too.
It's now time to pack our things and check out from our rooms. We then head to another resort in Oslob for lunch, the Serene Oasis Resort. This was our last stop before going home.
Our trip was quite swift but nevertheless, i had fun while we were there. I had a few bruises in my knees during our swimming but it was all worth it.
That's it for today's blog. See you in my next one!
Love, Jane
