Assalamualaikum and hello to you guys. I hope you are all having a great weekend. I am also enjoying my day. Week 302 of weekend engagement topics has been started. All the topics are quite interesting but I will go with the second one.
I made lots of mistakes in life related to wasting money. I never gave importance to money. I was a person who always helped my friends and family members with money. I never hesitated to spend money. But I made some serious mistakes in the past.
Back in 2019, Almighty ALLAH gave me an opportunity to grow in life. I had 17 lac PKR in my account. I sold my plots and a flat and had reasonable cash in my hand.
It was a time for me to invest this money in some areas where I could get good return. But at that time I made some wrong decisions. First I bought some prize bonds with a part of that particular money. One day one of my family members fell seriously ill and I sold those prize bonds and gave that money to him. Although I have no regret over this decision because I saved a precious human life . But the mistake that I think I made was that keeping prize bonds or cash in hand. If you keep cash or prize bond in hand, ultimately you will spend it anywhere. Particular amount of cash in hand is necessary but lots of cash in hand and not investing that cash is a foolish thing. I had cash in hand, I didn't invest this money anywhere and that was a devastating decision of my life. Slowly I was spending that money.
I bought few unnecessary things. Later on I realized I didn't need these things. Inshort I bought liabilities rather than investing in assets. Look, life give you apportunities in life, all you need to do to avail these opportunities and utilise properly.
I still remember one of my friends asked me to invest in gold or silver. And the price of gold was around 2 lac at that time. Price of silver was around two thousands. Now the price of gold in Pakistan is around 5 lac and price of silver is around nine thousands. I don't listen to my sincere friend opinion and made some foolish dicisions by not investing in assets.
Although I couldn't convert that money into assets but still I am thankful to Almighty ALLAH because I learned a lesson from those mistakes. Now I am not repeating those mistakes.
I will suggest you guys if you have cash in hand, don't keep it in your lockups. Invest it anywhere rather it would be too late for you. Money attract money and if you only spend it buying liabilities, you will do foolish thing. Make assets instead of spending on liabilities.
Money is your problem solving companion. Respect this precious thing otherwise it will not respect you. You are driver of your life. Drive wisely and the fuel you need for driven is money. Don't spoil it. Just earn, save and invest. And repeat this habit years and years.
