Something indispensable that I always carry in my bags is my umbrella, sometimes I even go out without my bag, but never ever without my umbrella. In the area where I live the sun is always shining and at temperatures over 36° everyone leaves the house to do their errands and fulfill their responsibilities, the heat is more bearable having an umbrella on you.
Many things can be missing when I go out, but when it is my umbrella that is left behind because I am in a hurry, not only do I feel uncomfortable because of the sun that seems to go through my skin, but also because I don't have it with me, it is like one of those objects that have become part of us and that when we don't have it, we feel that we are missing something very important.
I remember as a child I used to hear my mom say "the sun is very strong* and she would take out her umbrella to cover us, I didn't feel that way, of course, it was because my mom was always covering me with her umbrella from the burning sun, so when I grew up, when I had to be an adult and go out alone, I had to get one.
I used to use big umbrellas, because they are usually of better quality and bigger, however, as a matter of convenience, I decided to buy a small one that can easily fit in any of my bags, which makes it easier for me to keep it when I enter a place, and not lose it, as I have done several times already.
With the passage of time one learns to simplify things, I am very surprised how a few years ago the most indispensable thing for me was a makeup bag, and how over time it took a back seat and its place is replaced by something as simple, but as necessary as an umbrella which only cost me 3$.
I think we should all protect ourselves as much as possible from the sun's rays, which cause a lot of damage to the skin, but more than to protect my skin, I use my umbrella because I'm a bit of an enemy of the heat. But as long as I carry an umbrella with me, I can face life and everything it throws my way.
