Last week was so rough. Tasks after tasks were overwhelming. Frankly, it's draining to juggle them, the responsibilities as a subject teacher, adviser, work immersion instructor, and the other assignments on top of that, plus not to mention the heavy preparations for the limited face-to-face classes. Yes, the face-to-face classes in our school started just last week. And I honestly was not really ready for it. However, it must be dealt with favorably, as all we have to do now is to step forward from where we are for two years time, especially with our learning delivery.
And with all those, that had transpired in my week, a weekend getaway invitation from friends was perfectly just in time. I found it a great opportunity to bounce back from all the week's exhaustion. And here's my weekend.
We booked an overnight stay at Elsalvador Beach Resort in Danao City, Cebu. The place was actually my favorite to-go for quick escapes from all the hustle and bustle around. I've been here a lot of times and I always love coming here again and again. Well, there are a lot of prettier resorts than this that I've been to, but the different calm and peace I experience with Elsalvador everytime is what got me.
At 8:00 in the morning, we started driving off to the resort. It was just roughly an hour travel from our place, so we arrived there too early for the check-in time. Fortunately, they allowed us for an early check-in as there were rooms ready and available already that time. So lucky were we.
Right after keeping and fixing our things in the room, we braced ourselves with the resort's food for lunch. Yes, they have this restaurant that's named "Coco", which was taken from the word "Coconut". The resort had grown a number of Coconut trees, and the first time I went here, there were really a lot, however this time of visit after "Odette", there are now just few. But still, the resort's pretty. And talking more about Coco restaurant, it offers a wide array of selections that would really satisfy one's appetite and palate. Obviously, their food is one of main reasons why I always love coming here again and again.
For lunch, we got their best-selling food, Fish Fillet in Tartar Sauce, and yes my favorite, Baby Back Ribs. We got Mango shakes and Leche Flan too. So satisfying friends! Cravings satisfied!
I was so full that the plan of swimming right after was dropped. Well, my friends were, while I was just in the Cabana, laying on my back, scrolling through funny videos on Facebook. It was extra relaxing!
After some time of swimming, chitchatting, and some other relaxing stuff in the resort, by 4:00 in the afternoon, we went out and headed to Carmen, a municipality after Danao, for a "Samgyupsal" dinner by the beach. It was actually not on the plan, but a friend's sister suddenly called informing us that they were heading Carmen for that newly-opened "Samgyupsal" restaurant by the beach for just Php 199.00 per head for all you can eat. And well, it suits our budget preferences, so off we go.
The restaurant was in BPC beach resort in Luyang, Carmen. It's not on a national highway where it could be located just easily, so we tapped Google map. I couldn't remember how many times we took minor turns to reach the BPC resort, but I am sure we made several turns. And that made my Saturday afternoon even more entertaining.
The place was not as aesthetic as how I pictured it out in my mind. However, it has a relaxing and peaceful vibe which I liked the most. Imagine the cold hug of the seabreeze, plus the music of the water splashing to the coast, while you having a sumptuous dinner. Therapeutic, isn't it? Also, the place was made even more romantic with its live acoustic band harmoniously playing deep-into-the-soul songs.
And of course, the great food. The restuarant offers great selections for again, just Php 199.00 per head. The Samgyupsal meat was fresh and palatable, and the sidedishes were superb too. It exceeded my expectation for the Php 199.00 Samgyupsal that's unlimited. I would say that my first-time BPC Samgyupsal experience was great. I was happily full.
By 7:00 in the evening, we headed back to the resort, freshen up a little, and spent the rest of our night in their Coco restaurant, enjoying the live band, the cold drinks, and the company of friends.
It was indeed a weekend well-spent. I was relieved, relaxed and recharged!
