Hello there lovely hivers! It's me again . How are you guysss? I hope you’re doing great! 😇 By the way, thank you so much for all of your warm support in my blogs, I do appreciate y’all. I hope that even if there are times when we encounter problems, we won't give up and we'll keep fighting! Don’t forget to enjoy life! We only live once.
It’s Sunday, it’s church day! I just want to share our lovely photos with my partner as we went along in Basilica Minore Del Santo Niño De Cebu 🩷It is located at Pilgrim’s Center Osmeña Boulevard Cebu City. The place is one of the tourist spots in Cebu due to its historical and religious significance, which is the oldest Roman Catholic Church in the country that was established in 1565. The Basilica is the center pilgrimage site for devotees and it’s associated with the vibrant annual Sinulog Festival. It’s so nice because there are so many tourists like Koreans, Japanese, or even Chinese who visit there, the place is peaceful, clean, and very organized.
It makes me so happy that there are so many people who are devoted and give time to God despite how busy they are in their lives. Before anything else, we lit candles, thanking God for all the blessings He has given and for good health every day, also for His guidance every day. After that, we entered the church to kneel and pray 🙏 and luckily we arrived in time for mass so we attended. After that, the statue of Senior Santo Niño is at the back part of the church. We went around there and touched it, and taking pictures of the statue is strictly prohibited, so after we touched it, we went outside and took as many pictures as we could (lol).
(This picture shows how amazing the church was, there were so many saints)
So, after taking pictures there, we went out and saw Magellan’s Cross, then we wondered what the writings were because there were so many writings and paintings also, so we went inside to experience the writings inside Magellan’s Cross. The paint is very nice and it has meanings, it serves as a historical and religious monument and it represents the main foundation of the Catholic faith in the Philippines. So amazing! 🤩 and we shouldn't forget to take pictures (lol) because it will create memories.
After the joyful moments, the folks got hungry so we went to the well-known fast food restaurant in town, Mang Inasal, to have lunch there. There were so many people and aside from the unlimited rice, it's very affordable. Their chicken is so delicious and perfectly cooked, then it's worth it because their customer service is good, the people are also very polite.
As we walked by, there were vendors on the sidewalks selling souvenirs like key chains, magnets, and t-shirts printed with (I ❤️Cebu) and they also sold different kinds of saints. We just bought a souvenir bracelet and a native fan painted with Senior Santo Niño because that's what we liked 😉. On the other hand, every year Cebu City celebrates a big Festival called Sinulog Festival which usually happens in South Road Properties, Talisay Cebu every 3rd week of the month of January and that's what they also call Fiesta Senior where they traditionally do the popular street dancing with Sinulog Queens holding the statue of Senior Santo Niño as they represent and they also compete with different cities all over Cebu via floor dancing and street dancing with huge prizes. It’s literally (I ❤️Cebu) The devotees really enjoy it because there are so many activities and others paint their faces and wear Sinulog hats designed with colored feathers. Mostly, Cebuanos are very excited when the year ends because they can celebrate the Sinulog Festival again.
So wow, it was a fantastic day! even though the sun was very hot, we really enjoyed our visit to the Basilica and we were also happy, it was a treasured moment 🩷
I hope you enjoyed reading, have a good day hivers! ❤️✨
