Hello dear friends,
There are moments in life that bring deep emotion, and this Christmas season is one of them. Not necessarily sadness, but reflection, joy, and gratitude all at once.
As I prepare to travel home for Christmas, my mind is filled with memories. I come from Obi, Atabula in Lafia, Nasarawa State, and there's something special about going back to the village during this season. The atmosphere, the familiar faces, the laughter around the fire, it’s priceless.
I remember my childhood Christmases, how we ran around with excitement, wore our best clothes, and shared food freely. That joy was so pure. Now, preparing as an adult, it hits differently. It’s no longer just about celebration but also about creating moments for others.
This season, as I pack and plan, I think of loved ones, those present and those gone. I smile at how far we’ve come. And yes, sometimes the emotions creep in, but I remind myself, this is a time of joy, giving, and thanksgiving.
Christmas in the village is not just an event, it’s a feeling. A reminder of who we are, where we come from, and how much love still surrounds us.
Wishing you all peace and warmth as you prepare for your own celebration.
