A thousand dollars is more than what I would normally spend on any sort of weekend entertainment, but money is easy to spend in the high-cost city-state of Singapore.
First order of business - booking a night at Marina Bay Sands (MBS).
It's fancy, has an infinity pool, and is located centrally to be in close proximity to lots of good food and attractions. Of course, luxury doesn't come cheap - a night at MBS costs 300 USD.
Of course, I wouldn't be staying in it alone - I'd invite two of my buds to come along as well. Before we check into the hotel, we'd first go for some good local food around the area at one of the many hawker centers in Singapore.
Nothing beats some good minced meat noodles for me! Thankfully, hawker center food comes cheap and usually costs about 5 USD for a single portion at most so more money can be spent on other things.
After checking into the hotel, my buds and I would leave to Esplanade to listen to an ensemble performance by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra - I miss my days of performing in my middle school orchestra and I think I would enjoy a good ensemble performance. Tickets would run about 30 USD per person for some middle-of-the-pack seats.
Afterward, we'd head towards the ArtScience Museum nearby to see the fascinating exhibitions. I haven't been there in a while and it'd be nice to experience it all over again.
Finally, we'd head over to a nice restaurant to have dinner. Perhaps somewhere like Bread Street, which is a Gordon Ramsay Restaurant.
I'm not sure if I'd be able to appreciate whatever artisanal food they serve, but I wouldn't mind giving it a shot so I can tell people who haven't tried it that "It's not worth the money". 🤣
And finally, we'd buy drinks from the supermarket to drink till we pass out in the hotel. Awesome!
