For the longest time, I and my friends have wanted to have a sleepover where we could play games and just hang out but since it isn't a Nigerian concept, it had been hard convincing our parents to let us do it.
Now, you might be curious about why a group of 24 years olds have to take permission from their parents to sleep out, and in our case, we still live with them so, we have no choice.
Anyways, after weeks of begging our parents, they finally let us have this sleepover during the weekend and it was totally worth it.
We had planned that since we might not have another opportunity to have it again, we would do two nights instead of one, and the location would be at one of our houses; we chose the house with the chillest parents.
So, on Friday around noon, we all arrived at her house with food and drinks, and immediately we jumped into playing games.
We first started by playing Jenga and I was awful initially because I have shaky hands but, after a few rounds, I picked up and started becoming better.
After Jenga, we decided to play snakes and ladders, before moving on to watch the finale of stranger things which brought a whole lot of tears, when we were done with the movies, we made some popcorn, custards and then, we went to bed.
The following day which was a Saturday also had the same routines but we switched up the games to UNO and scrabble and instead of a movie, we did tiktoks for hours with our awful dancing skills.
The second night ended with us having long talks about our future and how to go about it and it was truly the best part of this night.
I am not exaggerating when I say that this is the best weekend I have had in a long while and it was totally worth all the begging that we had to do to get it.
To me, friendship is very important and I am so lucky that I have friends that I could laugh, cry and talk about my future with.
