On a bright Saturday my uncle had arrived from Germany. One of my favorite uncles. He spoils me with lots of gifts. Never for once said no to any of my requests. He adores me like his own. In fact I’m his favorite amongst my siblings. I’m always a favorite to people, no doubt. Including my parents.
We decided to plan a hangout with him where we can spend time together as a family while the kids play games. We started off by stopping by at KFC to get chicken , coke and fries before we go to the play ground.
As soon as we finished eating. My uncle took the pleasure of emptying our trays before we left. It was actually my first time seeing someone do that in a Ghanaian restaurant. Normally, Ghanaians would leave their table uncleared for the waitress to do it. As opposed “it’s their job”. But actually it’s one of table etiquettes and we can help them by doing it since they already have a lot to do around. My uncle said that’s very normal in Germany.
From there, we went straight to the playground. It’s a bit far from KFC. The play ground is called Magnolia . Thirty-five minutes drive. When we got there, we first bought tickets at the reception. We were six in number, hence we got 10% discount.
We actually didn’t go there properly prepared since we thought everything would be sold at the play ground. They actually were but at a very high price. Almost double price of the outside price. We had no choice than to buy bottled water from them, there was no satched water.
For starters, we ordered for icecream which was a bit less expensive. But it delayed for a while before we were served.
After we took our icream, the kids quickly rushed to play. They played for so long while we the adults were relaxing in the summer hat. Like I said we didn’t come prepared. We could have also brought adult games to play while we watch the kids. Games like word scrabble, monopoly, mancala , ludu etc.
They were on the sea saw for more than an hour and later moved to the bouncing boat. Funny enough we had to beg them to come and rest small before they continued. We ordered one plate of fried rice for them.
They had fifteen minutes rest and left to start the train. Being on the train came with extra charge aside the gate fee. They explained further that it uses electricity and fuel to operate.
It was 5pm and we the adults were tired of sitting down doing nothing. We wanted to go home. The kids enjoyed themselves, they didn’t want to go home. We had to decieve them that we would come back the next day.
While at home my mom was preparing special dinner for us. One of my favorite meals. Indomie noodles. I love it stir fried with vegetables and eggs.
The day was great. It was nice to leave my room and go out to receive fresh air with the family.
