"What don't you like doing on the weekend?"
Trucking, truckity, truck, fuckity f@&k f#ck...
My usuall backhaul that would have put me home before noon on this fabulously fucktastick Friday fell thru and I scrambled to find something to haul yesterday.
But the Good News is...
Juss kidding, there is no good news
The load board had posted a Kingstree, SC to where I live in Lake City, FL. A heavy assed 43500# HazMat Tankers endorsement liquid pesticide totes load. (Poison Skull Crossbones Placarded) Something I normally would never even consider hauling. These kinds of loads come with a heavy dose of Liability. Sprinkled with a fine coating of Murphys Law. And most often with a heaping helping of I Told You So.
But the Good News is...
Naaw... Still juss kidding, there still is no good news
It was posted by one of the Landstar broker agents I have done business with before and have a personal relationship with. Landstar is who I have leased all 4 of my trucks over the past 30 years of trucking to haul freight for. They are the worlds largest non asset based freight systems provider. What exactly does that mean you ask? Non assets? Well they make all the money with minimal risk. While the contractors assume the liability and take all the risks. They have treated me fairly well.
Great Coffee News.!!
Juss kidding, it was horrible coffee...
When You stop first thing in the morning to get a free coffee like I did this morning only to find out your frequent fueler card was hacked and $45 (usd) worth of points is gone. Well hey the free coffee was still on there. The sub human cyber fucks did not steal it. I was dreading this load since I booked it yesterday. I Slept poorly and I knew the day would only get worse. The agent never sent me the appointment confirmation number so I knew I would possibly be turned away at the gate. I needed a large mug of high test. I shoulda had a Monster Java. The Pilot Travel stop coffee was quite literally SHITTY. It probably would have made good paint remover or maybe battery acid.
But Hey Ya'll Finally Some Good News...
Did you really think there was gonna be some good news??
They let me park inside the gate until I could get the agent on the phone and the appointment info. So Now they are gonna load me at 10am. And boom just like that I get loaded... Incorrectly. I knew it was nose heavy as they did not single up the first two totes. I was not about to spend several more hours there with the politics of an off load reload and maybe costing my agent friend his shipper customer.
The Good News is...
Juss kidding, that Cat Scale ticket is not good news
The numbers should read no greater than.
Steers 12000#
Drives 34000#
Trailer 34000#
Gross 80000#
So here I sit just north of the GA. DOT scales chilling till the Commercial Enforcement PoPo's call it a weekend. They usually go home at 3pm on Fucktastically Fabulous Fridays. But remember the Murphy's Law is in effect. Watch em pull an all nighter right.? The Electronic Logging Clock will make me sit here now that I have stopped. 5 hours from home. Till 10 pm tonight. Then hopefully I can roll down i-95 south into FLA. With no issues on a Saturday morning.
Great News huh..?
Yeah Right, stay tuned cuz there is no great news
This weeks drama and the last. Last week I ran over an 8 point buck and a jobsite gasoline generator all in the first few hours of a Fucktastically Fucking ridiculous Monday morning. This and That, have made me decide to take the entire week off for Thanksgiving.!!
But the Good Bumper News is...
No Really, there is good bumper news
Have You seen my bumper..?
You really gotta see this bumper. It now has 3 good size deer and a mid sized genny on it's hit list. Only out of sorts by about a quarter inch. You literally cannot tell except for a few scratches that it has been hit. Bring it on Murphy's Law. I ain't playin' wit you...
Great News Bumper
