It's a little late getting here this year for us, but we finally got a decent dump of snow here in Vermont. About 10 inches, with another 4 predicted over each of the next two days. This means we'll now see nothing but white on the ground until the March melt-off which turns into mud season.
It's certainly nice to look at now, but will get a little old come the middle of January, lol. Then it's the waiting and thoughts of the spring thaw and everything turning green again. Really like the change of seasons, and wildly different shift in how everything looks. Just if winter was maybe just a month shorter, lol.
This was a very heavy, wet snow, which is great to look at on the trees, but very heavy on them, with many branches breaking. We had a large, 18 inch or so tree fall over the driveway last week, which required some urgent chainsaw action to clear away.
And of course, Betty the dog loves the snow. Even though there's a nice covered porch with bare gravel 5 feet away, she love to go out and lay in the snow. When it starts melting, she'll find the last 3 foot circles to go out and lay on lol.
