In 500 words or less explain what you like, or don't like, about the #weekend-engagement blog prompts concept I have devised and present each week.
This is my entry on the above blog prompt on #weekend-engagement
For the past one month that I joined hive, I can proudly say that the topmost channel of finding my feet on hive is my participation on the weekend engagement programmes.
Coming on hive as a new person, you don't have followers neither are you following anyone at the start. It's like someone that find himself in a strange land. You need to allow someone mentor you and at the same time be ready to participate in activities that acclimatize you with the environment.
Weekend-engagement program has really helped in this aspect. Kudos to the brain behind this.
Also, in the area of curation, the program is really helping. A newbie has limited audience at the beginning and this is disadvantageous to the growth of any account. This program provides a platform where you meet people.
You read contents from other writers and at the same time create contents for others to read.
If you like what you read, there is every tendency that you would follow the writer to read more of it. Someone that loves your work too may decide to follow you to read more of your contents. For this to happen, there is need for a meeting point and this program is a good example of such meeting points.
The authors are amazing and highly supportive. This is really a source of togetherness and it encourages individual commitment. Coming in newly and finding out that tens or hundreds of people read your content is really amazing. You will realize that the engagement is a win-win type for all the participants.
I must also commend the program for the quality of engagement topics brought forward weekly. I was so excited to the extent of checking out engagements of several weeks ago. I joined this program when it has been changed to blog prompt format and I am glad that you changed the format. What I noticed is that the participants keep swelling in population.
Suggestions to further make the program more robust.
The first is to make participants drop the link to their entry in the comment section of blog prompt post and mandating each participant to comment on at least three entries. This will bring people together more than before and it will also encourage mutual support for growth.
Secondly, I will also suggest that the program be made to come twice in a week. The time to spearhead such from your side is actually a source of concern but I believe it's doable. This will reduce my waiting period for us to get to weekends.
To sum it up, thank you for your efforts in making hive a place to engage and have fun through weekend-engagement. Keep up the good work.
