Hello community, this weekend wasn’t about rest, but about work, discovery, and learning. While many enjoyed their free time, I was preparing for a new journey out in the field.
The destination was Río San Juan, a charming town on the northern coast of the Dominican Republic. The day started early, as we traveled from Santo Domingo and then navigated challenging roads to reach the work area. Each mile covered was a reminder of the adventure waiting ahead, surrounded by unique natural landscapes and moments of reflection.
The effort under the sun and the long walks soon turned into satisfaction. The calmness of nature and the chance to connect with local communities made every moment worthwhile. There is always room to listen to stories and learn from people, details that add a special richness to the experience.
As the day ended and the sun hid behind the mountains, I felt grateful for living such a different kind of weekend. It wasn’t about rest or conventional fun, but about reconnecting with myself, with nature, and with that unique feeling of seeing the world through new eyes.
Have you ever had a weekend that wasn’t about rest but still left you feeling renewed?
