Welcome to my blog
The work that has left its mark along the way
Happy Sunday to everyone. Today I’d like to share my work experience with you. The question that’s caught my attention this week is as follows:
¿What has been the best job you’ve ever had, and why?
When I finished secondary school, the final stage of my education before going to university, I didn’t know what to do or what to study. Five years slipped by whilst I was trying to figure that out; during that time, I had various work experiences, including customer service and managing a business. I then decided to start studying as I wanted a better job. I managed to study whilst working to cover the costs of my studies. Looking back on that time, I can’t say I liked either of the jobs I had. I only did them because I really needed the money.
Over the years, I qualified as an IT professional and now work as a teacher. I’ve been in this job for 20 years and have experienced moments that have brought me great satisfaction. This is the best job I’ve ever had. I remember years ago how we used to take laptops to children with special needs; their excitement, their laughter and their gratitude is something I will always remember. Teaching children who will be the future of the country is very rewarding.
It’s been about six months since I moved to a new school, and honestly, every heartfelt hug from these little ones—who can’t see me because they’re all crowded around me in the computer room—really warms my heart.
Teaching is about leaving a lasting mark on children for their future. Although education in my country has deteriorated significantly, I still firmly believe that it is the way to open minds to new knowledge. My best work has been teaching.
I’ll say goodbye for now and hope to see you another time.
