Recently I saw a video that mentioned the importance of letting go of some things, especially material things; it explained that by keeping objects in our home that we do not use we are losing confidence in the cycle of life as well as distrusting our own possibilities to acquire new belongings.
The "I'm going to keep this because I may need it later" should be treated with great care and avoid extremes. This alarmed me a little because in my teaching profession it is very common to accumulate because "we don't know when we will need it". So I decided to get rid of some things. In addition to this is an internal struggle that I have because my environmentalist and conservationist spirit prevents me from discarding without reusing and even more knowing that in our country (Venezuela) recycling is not a priority. Unfortunately very little is recycled so I try to donate things that I will not need.
However, there are some things that I cannot throw away and I keep with love in my heart: little letters and drawings that my students make me with love.
I have been doing this activity for 4 years, basically since I started at the school where I currently work.
It is beautiful for me to be able to collect these little details from my students. They say that if a child gives you a drawing, he is giving you his life, and that's how I see it. They are giving me part of their admiration and emotions for that moment and I can't help but think that in the future they will be great artists or famous professionals and once I was part of them, which is the most beautiful and transcendental of my profession.
