Another Saturday is here, and it happened to be a busy one for me. I actually spent most of it on market runs! The sound of market runs freaks me out, but do I have a choice? I guess no. Hehehe.
So, a few days ago, my elder sister called me with a request to help her buy polo T-shirts and white face caps for her women's group. Their feast day is coming up, and they need uniforms. They wanted a specific design - white with a green combination, and the group's name printed on the back. She also wanted me to buy a black canvas for her, since we wear almost the same size.
So, after the environmental cleanup exercise today, I headed to Ariaria Int'l Market to run the errands for her. From A-line to So-Safe, I checked several shops, sending samples from various designers - Jack and General, Mr Tan, Victan and Aston Prince, to my sister on WhatsApp, which she also forwarded to her group's WhatsApp.
At one of the vendor's.
It was tiring, and everyone had different opinions on the quality, design, and price. They were debating on which design was superior, asking me questions like "How's the quality?" and "Which one is better?" Well, I did my best to answer them, checking with the vendors.
For the price, they varied slightly, depending on the vendor's purchase cost, but some vendors had the same price:
Super Victan: ₦36,000 ($26.53) for a dozen
Victan Masterpiece: ₦34,000 ($25.06) a dozen
Mr Tan, Jack and General, and Aston Prince are of the same price range - ₦34,000 a dozen.
Face Caps went for between ₦16,000 ($11.79) - ₦19,000 ($14.00) a dozen, depending on the quality.
After they went back and forth on the options, they eventually agreed on a design - Aston Prince. Thank goodness! Seriously, I almost abandoned the errand because I was losing it. Had to tell my sister that. And the hot weather didn't help at all!
So I bought the T-shirts, stricking a deal of ₦32,000 ($23.58) per dozen and white face caps at ₦15,600 ($11.50) a dozen - three dozen each. Then I took them to the printer to get the group's name printed.
After checking with the printer on the time they'd be ready, I headed back to Ekumi Shopping Plaza to get some personal stuff. From there, I went to So Safe to get a black canvas for my sister.
Sizing it up
My final pick - Nike Air at ₦13,000 ($9.58).
When I returned, he was putting the finishing touches on the job, so I waited, and it turned out into a bit of a wait because the ink needed time to dry up properly before they could pack them up. After that, I collected the polo shirts, went to the park and waybilled them.
Treats always make market runs fun, so I stopped by a roadside pastry maker and picked up some buns, which I ate on the go. They were hot and quite tasty.
I got home, exhausted, and with a slight headache. A cold bath came to the rescue!
And that's a wrap - a day stressfully spent. Lol.
Have a fabulous weekend!
