Hello everyone. I haven't been in this community for a long time, but the reason is simple: my weekends were apart from working and catching up the housework, to sleep to recover my strength. What a plan, isn't it?
These last few weeks have been really exhausting on a work level, apart from the change of season that always affects me in terms of my sleep cycle, I don't know why.
Weekend rides had been suspended or traded for fleeting trips during the week, to get the kids out for a bit while I ran some errands before heading back to work for the afternoon shift.
An ice cream express while I got money out of the ATM, or paid for some service, were the little outings I could offer my boys. Life was consuming me in the midst of routine, until today.
I decided that if Sunday is a day of rest, it should be for everything and not just for sleeping, so from now on I won't cook except for breakfast.
Nor will it be a day to do laundry or clean house. I have decreed Sunday as my day off after leaving work. It is something I need to follow to the letter in order to recover from extreme exhaustion.
When I got home from work, I told them about the new rule, so they could change clothes and go out to eat. I was ready to go out with my boys, when the older one said he preferred to stay in, so the plans continued with the younger one. (He preferred not to eat anything all day, so as not to be separated from the computer!)
We went downstairs to wait for the bus and in the meantime we decided where we would go to eat, to select the menu we would like and what flavor ice cream we would have for dessert.

Seeing my little boy's happy face for sharing alone with me was priceless. In fact, from him I learn to live life a little more relaxed, despite the bad things that may be going on.
We ate hamburgers and he took the opportunity to enjoy the park for a while. With the pandemic, he never set foot in one again, and now he enjoys it as if he doesn't remember that time of radical confinement.

The ice cream machine was damaged, so when we finished, we crossed the street and went to buy some at the store across the street. I opted for a coffee, while he had a cone with dulce de leche filling (his favorite).

We walked a bit, just enough to see the offerings of the street vendors who take advantage of the closed stores to offer their merchandise, and returned home.
We had no great adventures, but it was a balm in the midst of the weekly stress, and that recharged both our energies to return to our daily activities.
This new rule at home was really one of the best decisions I have made lately. So on Sundays we will have guaranteed outings!
