“Be grateful for the simple things in life. Don't take them for granted. After all ... What would a blind man give to see the pleasant rivers, meadows, flowers and fountains? and these and many other blessings we enjoy daily”

Hello ladies and gentlemen of Hive, especially the @theweekend community. This is the first time I have had the privilege of posting here. However I have read amazing posts from remote places I could only dream of going to.

But reading how those who live in those places share how they spend their weekend, especially in natural places transports me and thanks to them I can look through their eyes at those little gifts that are everywhere, no matter where you are in the world.

In my case, I don't really go out much. I always comment on this, but after the pandemic a lot of my skills got rusty hahaha. I used to walk almost every day in spite of it. We have the privilege of having a lagoon very close to home, although it's artificial, it has incredible fauna for the area and it's a very beautiful place.
Previously I did a post related to one of these walks around that lagoon, of course, for another community. However, I want to tell you that after a long time, I decided to resume my walks. Although that happened in a forced way.
An unexpected departure
The truth is that Sunday arrived and I had no previous intention of leaving the house so early, but rather a little later for an engagement. However, I woke up very early in the morning and I wasn't feeling very well, so I simply decided to go for a walk.
The truth is that seeing active people gives me energy. Around the lagoon there is a walking path and there are always people of all ages walking to get some exercise. Sadly a lot of older people always overtake me hahaha. They used to do it before and even more so now that I have lost the practice. But what I want to share with you are the little things that caught my attention that day.
Even though everything looks green, when you look at the large expanse of grass, if you really pay attention, you will see how inside, in any corner, you can see in a shy way, some glimpse of colour that nature shows, to distract your mind and gladden your heart. I'm going to show you some little flowers I came across on my walk.

Unfortunately I can't tell you their name because I have no idea 😜. These little flowers show us a great artist behind their creation, but why are they so small? Because you have to take a break in the speed of your life to be able to find them, and to appreciate them. For example, if you look closely at the grass you will find in some places some glimpses of white. For they are charming little flowers with a peculiar propeller shape.
The truth is that wild nature has a lot of beauty. There is an incredible amount of different flowers in the area of this lagoon alone and I don't know why I only photographed the ones I was unfamiliar with, but there are some that I see frequently that also adorn the surrounding area.
Suddenly I came across a group of small lilac-coloured flowers, and as I approached I was struck by the great resemblance to an orchid, could it be one of its types?

When I was looking at them, I suddenly realised that very close to them, there were some very tiny yellow flowers in the background, which looked like mini sunflowers, very tender, and next to them you could also see a small bud of another flower.

Other little lilac flowers crossed my path, they were in a group on the same stem and looked like little bells. As you walk past these tiny flowers that I have shown you, they really do go unnoticed. But the truth is that when you step back a little from your own existence and any problems you may have, you can afford to look beyond your nose and find little wonders like these.

And walking a little further I came across a real discovery which in turn brought back memories of my childhood. As a child I used to play with these plants, which had leaves that closed when you touched them, we even used to sing them a song to put them to sleep, although at the moment I don't remember how the song went. But the discovery was not the plant, of course, but these beautiful little pink dandelion-style flowers that looked splendid in the early hours of the morning.

It wasn't the best day for me, but it was really beautiful to see so much wonder that is lost around us and it made me think about who is behind it all. Who just sought to paint colours in different parts and different shades to give us enough things to admire, and even be thankful for. So even though it wasn't my best day it was a great start to a change of perspective, I had a lot to be sorry for, but that walk certainly gave me a lot more to be thankful for.
