"Rajshahi" just saying the name now fills my heart with a mix of warmth and longing. Recently, I returned from a short academic trip to this charming city, and even though it was just a few days, it left an impact that’s hard to put into words.
The main reason behind this tour wasn’t just academics. I came to visit someone very special, someone who feels like home to me. That was the true motive behind this journey. Everything else was just a bonus.
The city greeted me with its calmness, simplicity, and the gentle embrace of familiarity. Whether it was the quiet streets or the cozy corners of the railway station, everything felt meaningful. As I boarded the train to return, I couldn’t help but take a few pictures to capture the mood. The station was buzzing with activity, yet I felt alone in my little bubble of emotions.
In one image, you can see the green intercity train, lined up with purpose and strength, ready to carry stories and memories from one place to another. In another, there’s the distant railway bridge, the sun gently melting into the horizon, just like my heart was slowly melting into nostalgia.
And then there’s the picture of my hand holding my suitcase handle, henna still fresh on my skin, fingers adorned with a ring that holds meaning only I know. My feet, pointed toward the train but my heart stubbornly facing the other way, didn’t want to leave.
It’s strange how a city can grow on you so quickly, especially when it holds pieces of your heart. Rajshahi wasn’t just a destination , it was a pause in time, a breath of fresh air, and a memory I’ll hold close for a long time.
In a subconscious mind I have had a conversation with Rajshahi & the conversation end with a simple gratitude which is - "Until we meet again, Rajshahi thank you for feeling like home."
