Happy Sunday my friends. I hope you're all doing well and that this weekend was a great one. Today I'm sharing my entry for the weekend challenge proposed by our friend . We must answer several questions or give our opinions on topics, all very interesting and original. This weekend, I loved one of the questions: What do you love about your city/town and what do you hate/dislike? Explain in both cases. I really like talking about my city, all the beautiful things there are, because I like it so much. There are more things I like than dislike, and today I'm going to talk a little about that. Let's get started.
My hometown, where I've lived my entire life, is called Cumaná, Sucre State, Venezuela. It's a small but beautiful city, steeped in history. It's the first city on the American continent. This year it celebrated its 509th anniversary. This city is surrounded by a beautiful historic center, with houses, high schools, even a castle, which, despite so many years, remains a beauty. This is the first reason why I love my city: the history behind it. I grew up listening to these stories and visiting every place where these stories come to life. It's impressive, with everything this small and simple city has to offer. Every year they celebrate their birthday and throw old-fashioned festivals. People dress in period costume, and the entire historic center is decorated with lights and lots of joy.
Another thing I love about this city is its beaches. I don't want to brag, haha, but we have the best beaches. We have plenty to choose from. There are beaches with strong waves, calmer, shallower beaches, and they're all magical. On a weekend or a weekday, you just get up, grab your things, and head to the beach. It's a habit. You grow up with this love for the beach, and the sun, the sunsets in Cumaná, are luxurious. We have a boardwalk. You can go alone to enjoy those unique sunsets in my city. Enjoying them on the beach is also crazy, it's truly incredible. I have had the opportunity to leave my country and visit other cities in my country, and I definitely wouldn't change my Cumaná for anything. Of the things I don't like, since it is a coastal city, the salt marsh often affects us, and when it's hot, my God, it's like you're burning, haha, literally. And lastly, I wish its rulers loved it as much as I do and didn't have it so abandoned, it could be even more beautiful.
Now I say goodbye, my friends. I'm glad to be able to talk to you about my city and show you a bit of its beauty. A small, simple place, but with a beauty that can't be denied. See you next time. Blessings.
