Welcome Saturday of this weekend.
Many people like to cook to enjoy on the weekend because they have more time to do so. Do you cook/prepare food more on the weekends because you have more time or do you choose more take-out/prepared food? Explain your weekend food situation and feel free to share some of your dishes. Remember to use your own photos.
My history with cooking, I was never a big fan of making food, only what was necessary. Otherwise ready-made food would come home.
Weekends used to be for organizing because the week was so full of work activities. This situation has changed a lot. First of all, Venezuela has turned around in terms of income, secondly my children no longer live in the country, thirdly I am retired and I spend more time at home.
Spending more time at home has led me to take a little taste for cooking, since we have learned to make food more cost-effective and I always try to make recipes that are not so complicated but at the same time give flavor to those meals.
In general, I like to make soup, if not on Saturday, then on Sunday. This soup can be chicken or bones with lizard and vegetables. I like to use a lot of oregano for all my meals. For example, today I made lizard soup, I didn't register it. For tomorrow, I open the fridge and see what I have available for the magic to happen in the kitchen. Also, I can make oatmeal cookies to have for afternoon snacks with coffee.
I can say that I have taken a liking to cooking and on weekends I sometimes make more elaborate meals, usually soup.
