Greetings dear friends, participating in this Weekend-Engagement: WEEK 270, here is my answer to the question:
What do you feel is more complex than it needs to be? Explain.
Life is full of complicated situations and others in which we simply complicate ourselves unnecessarily. One of these things we perceive as complicated is romantic relationships because, in a world filled with social expectations, external influences, and the pressure to make everything work perfectly, we often forget the simplest things: to love, communicate, and enjoy our time together, which is what a sentimental union like dating, marriage, or marital life is truly about.
One of the most common aspects we find in couples is the lack of clear and open communication. Sometimes, especially women, we assume that our partner should guess what we feel or need, as we may have been taught by being told, "If he loves you, he should know what you want." This can lead to misunderstandings, resentments, and frustrations that fragment or break emotional connection. Instead of openly discussing our emotions, expectations, and needs, we often complicate things with assumptions or misinterpretations.
Another factor that adds unnecessary complexity is the influence of social media. Nowadays, surrounded by countless fake experts and advisors, or the portrayal of supposedly "perfect" lives on social media, we compare ourselves a lot to what we see online and long for things that may not be real. This can generate insecurities and unrealistic expectations due to the pressure of being the "ideal couple," making us forget to be authentic and enjoy our own relationship.
Instead of focusing on comparisons, we should value what we have and work together to build a connection based on authenticity, not on a standard imposed by society and what is believed to be perfect.
Moreover, many couples, instead of focusing on enjoying the present moment, allow thoughts of what could go wrong or doubts about the relationship to invade them. This kind of thinking can lead to feelings of emotional emptiness, where trust and spontaneity are compromised. It’s important to remember that it’s natural to have ups and downs, and that not everything is perfect, but those problems and moments of uncertainty can also be faced together without neglecting the relationship; on the contrary, they can even strengthen it.
