For this week's posting topic, I'll be answering question number one (1) which says;
TELL US ABOUT YOUR OWN VEHICLE ACCIDENT, THE ACCIDENT, HOW IT OCCURRED, WHERE AND WHAT WAS THE OUTCOME? HOW WAS THE REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT PROCESS AND YOUR RECOVERY FROM INJURIES. THIS CAN BE TRUCK, CAR, OR MOTORCYCLE RELATED.
Few years ago, let's say exactly 🤔 ten (10) years now I had and experienced a terrible accident which almost made me lame and I don't know if I should say I was naive and careless then because of how everything turned out to be.
I was done with secondary school, I didn't have anything to do at home, no work, no business, nothing at all, you can imagine how my life was then and at that time, my dad was pastoring one of the branches in our church so we happened to stay together, me, him, my mom and siblings.
So, one day I went for choir rehearsals in the evening, it was on a Saturday. When I got there, the choir members were not there yet except an elderly man who came to sweep and make the church premises clean, neat and tidy against the following day which was Sunday.
When I saw that, I went out to just stroll and then I saw the man's bicycle kept at a corner. It was an old bicycle, a very old bicycle owned by an old aged man so you can imagine the picture of how the damn bicycle was.
At this point, I guess you already know what happened 😂 or maybe you don't. My dear brothers and sisters, I carried the bicycle from where it was and decided to ride. I had never learnt how to ride a bicycle and I wanted to do that so bad but I didn't see a bicycle and someone to guide me through it.
So when I saw the old man's bicycle that evening, I took it and climbed on it and started riding the way I could. It was kinda hard for me cos the bicycle was worn out already and almost all the parts was terribly bad.
I was just there doing all I knew I could with the bicycle so while riding it, I got to a particular place where there were to many sand and gallops filled everywhere, it was in a dry season and there were plenty sand trust me.
So immediately I reached that particular spot, I don't know but somehow the bicycle couldn't pass cos of the sand and somehow the sand cut and boom off I fell in the ground with my left leg turned upside down.
My ankle was broken and the bones there cut into two. It was then that people came out to rescue and help me not knowing that something bad and terrible had happened. The old man who owned the bicycle wasn't mad at me but rather he helped me get up but I couldn't.
It was that bad trust me up to the extent that the choir rehearsals didn't hold anymore cos they found out my bones were broken and my leg was a mess. They managed to take me home using a wheelbarrow, yes I was carried home with a wheelbarrow 😂.
Getting home, everything was explained to my family and it's only my mom that had pity on me. My siblings were busy laughing at me and everyone on the road who saw me. My dad didn't even say a word to me cos he had warned me not to get myself into any trouble and problem that he won't answer me and truly till I recovered he didn't say anything to me nor pay any bills concerning that.
The following day I was taken to a doctor who knew how to make my leg whole again. A huge and fat some of money was been paid, mom didn't even have but she had to run around and raise the money for me. At that point, I learnt my lessons the hard way, I felt bad for making them go through such stress of taking care of me like a baby.
It took me two whole months to recover and in all those times, I couldn't walk nor do anything for myself. I felt and experienced pain which I don't even wish my enemy to experience that. It may sound so easy and cool to you but I went through hell, the pain of trying to join your bones together again is what almost killed me but I'm happy I didn't die or something.
You know the funniest thing is that after that accident, I tried riding a bicycle but I didn't fall or have any problem this time, I found out I could ride a bicycle till date and I'm happy. After the whole thing my dad use that to teach my siblings a lesson that if they at any point get themselves into any trouble or problem, he won't answer any of us.
It was a terrible accident indeed. It happened ten years ago so I don't have the pictures, I would have attached them here.
Thank you
