I have to say, that I am already doing this detox periods. Especially during Yoga retreats.

For example, when I am at the Teacher Training Course, that lasts one week, I usually take back my mobile phone at late night, eventually while at the toilet, simply to check into eventual urgent working updates or things going on. But there, for more than one week I use the cellphone not more than 15 minutes a day. Just the time to answer the people that require an answer from me. Some others are literally waiting until the end of the week.
Tech-detox moments are very healthy, they help our concentration and focus and moreover they also reduce our inner vibration of being on a constant vigilance.
Tech detox periods are also very useful to reconnect with people, with what surrounds us and with food. Yes, with FOOD.
For example, during this weekend in June, when the retreat was in the middle of nature, and the connections were very weak, I completely forgot about cell phone, using it simply for the timer for some asanas and meditations I had to perform.

How often do you see people hypnotized by their smartphone while eating, at the point that they are barely aware of what they are eating?
During yoga classes I always teach to students that before aspiring to become a master yogi meditating hours and hours, we should exploit two important tools that we do every day:
Breathing and eating.
The more we are aware of these two processes, the more we will be awaken during our everyday life, spending adequate attention to everything happening to us, recognizing synchronicities and events.

Therefore, staying with no cell phone for one weekend is something that I am surely going to do, dedicatedly to this contest and dear I am going to publish another article at that time, explaining all the things I could do (still I will need cell phone only to document it with pictures :D)
