Talking about the worst meals, something terrific crossed my mind; no matter how much I'm trying to focus on the other ones, I can't get rid of it. So yeah, on it, you're gonna hear the most hilarious one I've experienced.
By worst, I can't rank, but the one popping in my mind is beyond that level. Well, it wasn't just me, we had to experience that in a large number, haha, I bet for them it was the worst experience.
So, the incident is from around 2023, perhaps. It was a large event; we had paid a hefty amount of money for the 2-day event, which included many activities. As it was a day-long event, breakfast, lunch, and snacks were provided for each of the attendees. Everything else was top-notch, the conference where the speakers gave mind-blowing speeches as expected, the management, gifts, and all were good enough. We had almost 500 participants in that event; it was a great one.
"ᵂᵒʳᵈˢ ᵃⁿᵈ ᵖⁱᶜˢ ᵃʳᵉ ᵐⁱⁿᵉ, ᵘⁿˡᵉˢˢ ᴵ ˢʰᵒᵘᵗᵒᵘᵗ ʷʰᵉʳᵉ ᵗʰᵉʸ ᶜᵃᵐᵉ ᶠʳᵒᵐ!"
Breakfast was a good one, lunch was supposed to be the same, but what happened that made it the worst? Well, when we were served the food, in one-time containers made of foil paper with spoons, everyone was lining up and sitting to have it. I, with two of my companions, sat at a table. When I took my first bite, I didn't realise; I just felt something was not right, then I took a few bites with the other items to figure out the mismatch. I thought maybe it's my taste bud which couldn't find it appealing, with a pause, I looked at my other companions, they were hesitant too, and started to ask. Looked around, it kept growing, people started to chatter, upon inspecting, we realised that the rice got super sticky, and from beneath we got to smell the actual smell, which marks it as not worth eating. Few went for an exchange, but it was the same, and on a large scale, everyone noticed a messy situation had taken place.
So what went wrong? It was a hot summer day, and the caterer who sent the food kind of packed them all together in one box without cooling the food a little bit, and so the eat kinda spoiled the rice, and the other foods got a messy taste. Also, due to the outside heat and the long time of preserving while being brought in here, it spoiled. A few got sick as well; fortunately, we were fine, and nothing happened like that.
Shortly after lunch, when the event started, the organisers came on stage and apologised to everyone. Things were fine the next day of the event.
So yeah, that was the incident regarding the worst meal. Maybe meal-wise it wasn't so trash, but the experience was really bad, and that's the worst I have experienced so far.
