THE BEAUTY OF BLUE HOLE SPRING
Hello, Hivers around the world! This is my blog for today about the incredible weekend getaway at Cold Spring by Nature. I hope you enjoy reading my article.
The crystal-clear emerald-green water of the Blue Hole Spring in San Juan, Tuburan in Western Cebu Philippines is truly catching my attention it is a perfect place for relaxation for families and friends. For only 10 pesos entrance fee you can experience and enjoy swimming in this therapeutic water.
Tuburan comes from the name in Cebuano word “TUBOD” which means spring of its crystal-clear water springs, rivers and falls. It is the source of abundant water used for families even before.
This Blue Hole Spring is visited by both locals and tourists. It is surrounded by trees, nipa, and many more ornamental plants to add to the beauty of nature. Blue Hole Spring is so deep and swimming is full of fun and exciting. People love to climb the steel ladder, and dare to swing and jump into the spring. It is a good body exercise. Come and enjoy the beauty of this Blue Hole Spring.
The bamboo raft can be carried or can accommodate more than 50 persons, so it is very interesting to experience the wonder of this bamboo raft. Most people go to the bamboo raft then jump into the water and go swimming around into the bamboo raft. Mostly, some of the boys are going to swing and then jump into the deep emerald-green water. I also enjoyed swimming and it was a very nice experienced.
Here we are in the bamboo raft taking pictures of elegant nature around the spring. Bamboo rafts are also available and allow for visitors’ relaxation, here we are experiencing the coldness of the surrounding while floating.
COTTAGE FOR RENT
There are so many cottages for rent. The price is 300 pesos, free table, and chairs. You can spot a wonderful place to feel comfortable sitting and relax.
Early Saturday morning, we started our trip at 6:00 o'clock in going to Tuburan. It is about 2 hours drive before we arrived at the place. Because for a long trip, we felt thirsty and hungry. So, we eat our breakfast in the place. We brought our food and drinks. After eating our meal, we go around the spring and enjoy swimming.
OUR COTTAGE or in Cebuano we called it Payag. This was where we get together, having a good conversation and sharing foods and drinks. We exchanged many jokes and laughters. This is a very memorable moment that we will treasure.
This was me and colleagues from my first school station in Gawaygaway Elementary School. After our stressful days for the preparation of the closing ceremony on July 11, 2023, we planned to unwind, finding a place where we can get together that can cope with our stress. We chose this place where we visited, it is quite beautiful, perfect for relaxation. Now here in the Blue Hole Spring, we go swimming with a group of friends. We experienced diving in the deep and cold spring water.
LIFE VEST
If you don’t know how to swim you can also rent a life vest for 50 pesos here in Blue Hole Spring. It is good for the safety of children and adults. If you cannot swim, then you have the life vest you can enjoy more.
THE SMALL RESTAURANT
Here in Renlan Kitchenette, you can also order your favorite food and drinks that you like if you are feeling hungry and thirsty, the price is not so expensive. Wi-fi for 5pesos only you can access the internet for two hours.
This is a parking area of a blue hole spring for private vehicles. It is also a spacious area and is surrounded by many bamboos and other trees. It is fine looking, clean and full of wonders.

HOW TO GET THERE?
If you’re taking a bus or a V-hire, get off at the town of Tuburan proper. Then, find a riding motorcycle, or in Cebuano, we call it (HABAL-HABAL) going to Blue Hole Spring for 50 pesos per person. If you are using your vehicle, use Waze or Google Maps, just search for “San Juan Elementary School. From there, ask around where you can find the Blue Hole Spring.
Recommended time to visit is 7:00 am to 5:00 pm only for safety reasons. It is about 20 to 30 minutes drive away from the town of Tuburan.
