Hello dear Hivers! How's everyone doing?
When you're mature enough, you know what you are most grateful for! The beautiful gifts that we sometimes tend to disregard - the gift of life, the gift of family, friends, and colleagues, and having a stable job!
I should say that I have been so blessed this past year having achieved the things I never thought I could do, - that is finishing my Master's Degree as well as receiving an award as Most Outstanding Teacher in Grade 10.
There are so many beautiful things I am so grateful for and celebrating my birthday this year is truly a happy one. Not only because of my achievements but because I am surrounded by the people I love especially my family!
The 14th of May was the day that God brought me into this world and enjoy life at its fullest, my birthday. Waking up on this special day, my little girl brought me her sweet little surprise I didn't expect she would do! It was a cute birthday card she personally crafted with her birthday greetings and a little note that said, "You're the best Mama!".
Reading the note I was a bit teary-eyed and a bit proud of myself as a Mom of my two kids. I know I'm not the perfect mother to them and every day is a learning experience for me. It was truly a beautiful present to receive on my birthday and Mother's Day. And with that, I should say I am so blessed, indeed!
The Birthday Cake
Every birthday I had, I was always the one who ordered a cake for myself! (You see, it's funny to receive the birthday cake that you bought for yourself but with this dedication?lol)
But not on this day! I never thought I would experience this sweet surprise from the hubby who ordered this cake himself for me and with the design especially chosen by my little girl. Because the hubby is not the showy type. My son is always the introverted and playful one!(chuckles)
My Birthday and Mother's Day at the Beach
The husband had his plans ahead but priorities changed and we opted to celebrate my big day at the beach. And if you check my previous blog, we were especially drawn to and loved this beach not far from home. I'm talking about the Tagboanan Beach at Nipa, Borbon, Cebu.
When the foods were ready and everything was set, the whole family left for the beach on a warm sunny morning.
We especially chose the cottage (for ₱500.00 or $8.97 rental fee) made of light materials because it was close to this big shady tree!
Not only because of the cool breeze that we can enjoy here but also because it was very accessible to the grilling place as well as the inviting sea.
Prepared by the husband and some family members, the family enjoyed our simple but festive lunch by the shore in the company of one another!
The charming sea was calling us that mother and father as well as the children immediately immersed themselves in the clear turquoise seawater.
Of the busy and stressful days at work or even at home, taking a dip and enjoying the sea is what I most need! Of course, I should not let this day pass without de-stressing and recharging myself, too!
This birthday and Mother's Day celebration I had may not be as grand and lavish as how others spend theirs, too but I should say I am especially blissful on this day getting to spend this special day with the people so dear and close to my heart.
It's not easy to be a working Mom but I always make sure I am able to monitor my children when it comes to their schoolwork as well as making them feel I'm always there for them anytime despite the busy and hectic schedules at work!
According to Marion C. Garretty, "A Mother's love is the fuel that enables a normal human being to do the impossible."
And this love is what motivates me to wake up in the morning and be the best I can be for my children and for my family- the most beautiful gift I have ever received which I am always grateful for.
And this is all for today's blog dear Hivers! Thank you for reaching this far reading my blog. See you again in my upcoming blogs! Until then........
