El Picacho, the monumental rocky mountain, located west of Galipan.
Happy day my friends, it's a pleasure to be on @weekend-Experiences and to be able to share with everyone one of the activities I did over the weekend. Yesterday, Sunday, we went to spend a wonderful day in one of my favorite places in the world, the mountains. In Venezuela we have the Waraira Repano National Park, mostly known as El Avila. This great mountain is a Venezuelan national park, I had exactly one year without visiting it, while I was out of my country I missed it very much, you can imagine my excitement to be back to my favorite place, the day was simply spectacular.
Excited to start the route, and waiting for the instructions from the guides. My friend Tibaire and my love Alexis are with me in the picture.
My accomplices and adventure partners on this ride were my friend and my love
. In this picture it was 8:00 am. The meeting point was at the cable car station located in Mary Perez, we were waiting for them to call us to give us the logistic instructions and start the group trip.
With the bracelets ready to go. The Jeeps were waiting for us outside the station, to start climbing El Avila.
We were 22 people in total, plus 2 guides. From the cable car station located in Mary Perez, we took the jeeps that took us to a part of the park called Galipan. It is a popular recreational area in the park, characterized by its delicious food. There we took the opportunity to go to the bathroom, some had breakfast. We bought some desserts like dulce de leche, dulce de plátano, here we call them bocadillo, they were delicious.
There are several stores selling the same variety of desserts and foods.
In Galipán we spent 45 minutes and then we began the journey that lasted an hour walking until we reached our final destination called Picacho.
El Picacho distinguishes itself from other mountains because the access road is simple. It has a well-designed path that goes around the top of the mountain until it reaches the most notable and extreme part. Between laughter, stories and good vibes we traveled the road.
I was fascinated with so many plants and flowers of beautiful and striking colors and shapes that surround the road. It is an area where ferns abound.
At one point we could see the sea, fortunately for us the sun could be seen at times and illuminated the landscape. The altitude and the time of the year contributed to the appearance of the fog.
The temperature fluctuated between 14 and 15 degrees Celsius. In this photo the sea begins its romance with the sky, before the eyes of the visitors they become one.
Here we are happy to have arrived, the guide named Jesus accompanies us in this photo
I admire and appreciate the work done by these guides, the service and human warmth are the hallmark of "Mochilas arriba Venezuela".
Finally here I am at the famous summit of Picacho Mountain.
My Sunday turned out to be spectacular, I spent it as I like, in contact with the people I love and in nature. I hope you liked the account of my walk to my favorite mountain.
