Thank God it's Friday!! The feeling of an incoming Friday or should I say #Theweekend has become a norm for me in recent times. This is because there would always be something topical to discuss, from the archives of the progenitor of this community, .
Today, we shall be discussing Without. I choose to bother myself about the below question.
Topic one: Without items
Name three things you currently have that you cannot live without. Explain what they are, why you can't live without them and what negative impact their loss would bring. Computers and phones are excluded from this question.
My Wallet
I feel empty each time I go out without my wallet. It is like my company. In this part of the world, where technology is just evolving, your wallet full of money, complimentary cards and whatnot has become a very vital tool to make life easy.
Sometimes in 2009, I sojourned to another part of town to send a mail via the post office, with only my transport fare in the chest pocket of my shirt, forgetting to pick my wallet where I had extra cash. On my way back, I found a book Long Walk To Freedom by Nelson Mandela that was in my long list of literature text I needed to acquire, at a moderate price only to find that my wallet wasn't with me. It was a painful experience. I have decided never to go out of the home without first taking my wallet.
You might have heard of someone who got stranded on a journey when his/her wallet got lost. One can imagine the frustration that would come through such situations. You may even have to become a corporate beggar as a way of coming out of such dilemma.
My Wristwatch
Time is very precious. There are some people who are very strict with the usage of their time. And to keep time in check, the wristwatch must be worn always.
Recently, I heard the lead of an outsourcing firm saying:
The first thing I check with an intending job seeker is if he/she is time conscious, I first look at if heshe is wearing a wristwatch, whether working or not.
Now, that may seem funny but it's true that you can keep a job, an interview appointment, contract or board meeting, even a proposal presentation when you are time conscious.
During my university days, I had some very principled lecturers who didn't keep late comers in their lectures. They'd lock out any student who is not seated before the lectures begin.
Thus, I have learnt to always be with my wristwatch always. This has also made me know different kinds of wristwatches, base of model and brand or designers. Phillipe Patek wristwatches took my first attention.
Diary and Pen
Record-keeping is very important
The faintest pen is brighter than the smartest brain.
There are times when I get inspiration of what to write when I am on the move, with the aid of a pen and diary, I quickly jot it down and when I am calm and collected, I can develop it. Without a diary and pen, most great ideas would have been forgotten.
At other times, I keep records of email addresses or contact addresses in my diary, at least to have a double base for keeping such information.
