I'd like to first say a big congratulations to for reaching this giant stride. When it first started, every Friday, my hands and eyes would queue to watch what topic will be discussed in the community. I simply looked forward to it. And now after several weeks of discussing one thing or the other, here we are. Congratulations again.
This last one year have been so amazing but not without some challenges. One of which the increasing number of participant in the weekly engagement. It was a blessing in disguise as some folks who had been here became less active because some other folks who could do magic with their writing had flooded the space.
Five hundred words may not be enough to express how #weekend-engagement had been fair since I joined the league about a year ago. Having come this far is a big achievement for the community and the initiator of the idea. When it first started as a weekly engagement contest, it was fun and quite explosive.
One thing I love about it was that it led to getting to know people from all walks of life and the interaction led to some good relationships and sharing of ideas.
There was the exchange of cultural values. I learned a lot of strokes from different cultures and people sharing their ideas based on their culture taught me to appreciate the norms in other cultures even though they differ from mine.
Cross-cultural expository were discussed at the earlier stage in the comment section. That was one of my memorable moment here in the last one year.
The posting topic series came with another magic. Each time I tried to rack my brain in what to write, the #Weekend-engagement posting topics gave me an ample choice to make with a list of options to choose from. That alone is a very app laudable step by the moderator of this community.
To be considered is the opportunity to meet people of different clime and clan. It's great connecting with people all over the world from here.
What Could Be Done Better
I know it's may be a difficult task but if the moderator would do well to recognise that everyone cannot write the same way, it will help users of #Theweekend community feel a sense of belonging when their post is engaged.
The environment I am writing from could be different with that of a user writing from Bulgaria or Cyprus. Hence, our reasoning would never be the same because we have different fact at our disposal.
Also, I may be wrong but I have considered that the parameter or yardstick for showing those to be rewarded after every engagement weekend does not seem transparent enough.
In all, this place is one of the places I'd rather be on in the Hive blockchain.
I am looking forward to celebrating the second anniversary as we sail through this new year together.
