Goodnight, blog friends, even though I'm here at the last minute to participate in this weekend's experience. This time, I've chosen a very simple topic, but one I'm happy to talk about, also to give myself a little confidence and hope! Why will 2026 be better than 2025? First, because this year, with a few positive pieces of news, has been pretty awful. I've lost friends, I haven't found a decent job and I'm still unemployed. Many of my loved ones have gotten sick, some have said goodbye to us forever, and a thousand other reasons. But let's not talk about 2025, let's talk about 2026. First, it will be better because I'll be spending it in my own home, which my husband and I bought. I'll finally have a new house that I can furnish, paint, and manage as I please, a house on which I'll certainly pay a mortgage but not rent. I'll still own a property that belongs to me. Then it will be better because in addition to moving house I'm changing city, I'll finally escape from this village in the middle of nowhere with few buses and lots of gossipy and malicious old men, a village that I hated viscerally also because here as a child I spent some of the worst moments of my life and finally I'll leave and go to live in a big city!
I'll live near the train station and all the amenities in a city that's much more vibrant than my village, with plenty of services, activities, and even job opportunities. From my new city, I'll be able to easily travel to other cities like Lucca, Prato, Altopascio, or Pescia. Why will it be better? Because I also intend to improve my lifestyle. I'd like to get more physical activity, and as a chain smoker, I've set myself the goal of quitting smoking; that would be a huge improvement. Most of the improvements will be made by moving cities, but I've already seen some improvements in these first few days. I've cut out some toxic people from my life and feel much more active and serene. I hope to improve my anxiety and depression in the new year, too. Living in a big city, I'll also have access to support groups and free counseling, which will help me a lot! That's why I'm sure 2026 will be better than 2025!
