The weekend spent in the Buyuk Menderes Delta National
was a real surprise for us on the road from Cesme to Kemer during our cruise along the west coast of Turkey.
I asked my daughter Victoria to find a beautiful place near the sea with a cozy bay so that after a night of driving we could spend a few hours in the harmony of nature. She looked at the map and saw a beautiful national park at a distance of 37 km from the city of Kusadasi. We left at night and drove until four in the morning, then stopped at a gas station to sleep for a few hours. And so in the morning we drove up to this incredibly exciting place.
We saw before us a road between the pine slopes of the mountains on one side and a steep descent to the sea on the other. Entrance to the park was free. Above the precipice we saw a wooden gazebo and an observation deck, and we parked our car here and went out to enjoy the scenery.
After all the beautiful places I've seen in Turkey, Greece, Montenegro and Italy over the past year, this place deserved to be on the top list! The slopes of the mountains were densely overgrown with pine forest and created a beautiful contrast against the background of the azure sea!
The water in the sea was so transparent that you could see the small stones on the seabed. The one shimmered with different shades of turquoise color and the shine of the morning sun made the water magical and attractive! And on the slopes of the rocks grew strange dwarf flowering plants.
I read on Wikipedia: National Park of the Dilek Peninsula and the Great Menderes River Delta is a nature conservation area with the status of a national park, located in western Turkey, on the territory of the Kusadasi ila Aydin district.
There is a descent to a large bay, which impresses with its beauty.
We got to this beautiful place when the water was still cool. and it was windy enough in the big bay. So, having taken beautiful photos, we slowly drove on, enjoying the beautiful scenery, in search of a small cozy bay for swimming.
We spent several hours enjoying the hot stones. A unique feature of the park is the shiny stones, as if covered with a layer of silver or gold.
The air around us was filled with the scent of the pines that were above us.
One of the most important features of the national park is that it has the feature of a natural museum, where you can see almost all the plants that spread along the coast from the Mediterranean Sea to the Caucasus.
This unique variety of plants makes the national park more attractive.
Visitors to the national park have the opportunity to see natural beauty on the one hand, and enjoy the sun in pristine bays on the other.
And we continue to be on our #TheLongestTrip. Thank you all for your visit and support 💖
