My greetings @weekendexperiences, my weekend has been super busy, I thought about telling you, but I found this week's engagement topics so motivating that I decided to write about expectations.
I think that having expectations in relation to the people around us favors communication and relationships, we expect from them behaviors and attitudes that strengthen them, if for any reason this is not fulfilled we can be disappointed and of course feel sad, frustrated and hurt.
But, if to avoid this situation we decide not to have expectations, it would be an obstacle to foster good relationships with others, establish connection and mutual collaboration based on trust in those around us and we would miss that joy and satisfaction that produces this relationship.
Generally extremes are always bad, so we must seek a balance, which lies in being realistic, in having an open mind, flexible, allowing us to trust and be aware of what we expect from others, but also allowing us to accept that our expectations may or may not be met.
With this issue of expectations you have to be very careful, because sometimes we are demanding more from others than they can offer or our expectations are not theirs.
On the other hand, if your expectations are low, you could hurt the other person and make them feel bad, you could lose a pleasant experience.
Let's accept people as they are and try to get to know them so as not to expect more than they are capable of giving. Let's be realistic and objective ourselves so as not to create false expectations, situations change and we have to be flexible and know how to adjust.
My expectations were to have my family cetca, I thought I would enjoy my old age like my parents and grandparents, surrounded by family.
But my children emigrated, because in their country they could not reach their expectations of life, that does not make me feel bad, because we stay close and the expectations of all of us is to be together in the future.
Life is very rich and every person and situation is different, from both negative and positive experiences we always learn and grow emotionally.
The images are my own.
