Finally the weekend-engagement has arrived, now I look forward to it every week as my favorite event here on Hive, I don't want any of it but it's the initiative I love the most!
I obviously always thank dear for this opportunity he gives us, I would like to ask him how he manages to find so many ideas to write about and always all very fascinating.
I'll start immediately by revealing to you that I have chosen to talk about psychics, card readers, fortune tellers and dancing company and, bluntly, I make my position clear... they are all scammers, or rather those who define themselves as psychic or magician is because he knows to exploit qualities that have nothing to do with magic or with "the world of the dead".
in the same way, however, I admire the illusionists and mentalists for whom I have an immoderate passion.
Precisely this passion of mine led me to study mentalism and all its facets and the more I went deeper the more I discovered how you can make an accurate reading of the person in front of you through the signals that his body sends you, for example; even more amazing is discovering the fact that we can be influenced, if we are also very easily predisposed among other things, to do things that we do not believe we could have done; we can even be hypnotized unconsciously.
In short, the world of mentalism is something fantastic because there is so much to study and because to become a good mentalist it takes years of practice and study, an innate empathy is always handy and also a good chutzpah; the required qualities are many, you need to know how to play your part well for example (this is what magicians or pseudo-psychics do best, they stage a show while they are doing a cold reading), patience also plays a role, as well as being calm and concentrated... in short, to be honest, there are many skills and qualities that are needed to really be able to define a mentalist.
The best known mentalist, and the one I adore too, is Derren Brown, while in Italy my favorite is definitely Francesco Tesei.
Just by seeing some of their performances you can understand how fortune tellers, soothsayers and this whole class is just a band of clowns who scam people and, among other things, discredit the entire category of mentalists.
The most important thing I think is honesty and clarity; a mentalist knows and will always make it clear that behind every illusion of his there is always a trick, a subterfuge and a logical explanation.
Instead, what leads me to hate charlatans for example is the fact of hiding the logical and rational part and trying to pass off their actions as supernatural powers... which needless to say is clearly a scam.
Magicians are a category that is in the middle as far as I'm concerned because, those who define themselves as an illusionist and don't try to hide the fact that there is a trick behind their games, I appreciate it since they really aren't scamming anyone but are simply entertaining with tricks he will probably never reveal; But whoever claims to have magical, psychic and nonsense powers of the kind I consider him a fraudster like psychics and fortune tellers.
To be clear, when someone tells you that your great-grandfather is talking to you from the beyond and is telling him to be calm because you will solve your problems, he is making a statement that would be fine for 99.9% of people, you say no. ?
We all have great-grandparents who are most likely dead (especially if we are fifty or older), this means among other things that we are unlikely to know of a reason why the great-grandfather loved us badly, it still follows that it is standard that the great-grandfather can love us, for the discussion of problems, who doesn't have any? (I keep 1% but in my opinion it is an exaggerated percentage of people who have never had a problem).
Obviously while the elusive fortune teller or psychic is making you participate in the fair of the obvious he seasoned everything with a little theatricality and that's it!
The worst thing is that there are people who, in addition to being easily influenced by these things, then remain shocked or even traumatized, therefore, in addition to the damage of the scam, even the insult.
Well, I think I can stop there for now; I guess you understood what I think about fortune tellers, psychics, telepaths etc. etc.
As far as mentalism is concerned, I think I'll write a couple of articles later because it's something I'm so passionate about.
