Though Cox's Bazar is the most heavily crowded tourist destination, we are the lucky ones to enjoy a clean and quiet part of the beach all by ourselves. And this is the first time we have experienced the best way one can enjoy the sea beach in Bangladesh.
We took a resort where we got the utmost touch of nature in every element. I am a nature lover, so these things keep surprising me in their own way. Waking up by the sound rain drop in the tin ceiling, experiencing the morning rain sitting on the hammock in our balcony, by holding a cup of tea, enjoying the breakfast beside the scenic mountains and majestic sea, walking through the local flower plants where the path is decorated with pebbles and stones, the early morning lights illuminating all of the flowers and the raindrops creating a faint glow in all of their edges.
We also spent a whole night beside the beach, singing along by the campfire. Enjoyed our barbecue, tasted the best fish in town, where two nagging cats were our only guests, spent the rest of the night just talking about us, our past, and how we should plan for your future. I see dedication among the people, how they care about each other, how they feel for each one of us as a family. In today's world, you can hardly find this kind of selfless true love. after a long talk, the birds started chipping around us, indicating the arrival of dawn, the alluring sound of the endless choppy wave was coming near, from the restless, mystic sea. As it was the morning tidal time the waves came near and called us, for the last time. Ah, wish we could get another never-ending night like this!
Our peaceful journey also got somewhat upbeat when we started the marine drive on the next day.. It was a long drive where we saw the chain of mountain ranges on one side and the boundless peaceful sea on the other. The pile of jhao trees on the beach was increasing the beauty of the sea. We had a vehicle called "chander gari" which didn't have a shade on the top. So it was the best way to grasp the 360° view and amuse by the nature standing at the top. We sang on top of our voices where no one else was to judge. The extreme wind and intense sunlight could not beat down our excitement. The combination of mountain and sea in an endless single road gave the perfect long drive you can ever cherish in this country.
While we were returning from the marine drive, we took some rest by the sea side and hopped on a standing shampan (fishing boat). The boat survived for a pretty long time in the restless sea which can be told from its rusty woods, worn out flags and tanned plastic fishing floats. The smell of dry fish and salty water was helping us to make an imaginary living scenario of the fishermen and their activities. The golden ray was coming through the trees and hitting our boats, the colourful red flags and nets fluttering in the late hour of the day. An instrumental song, breezy wind, and mystical sea decor an ethereal evening for us.
In every night, we traveled a long way to venture for the best food in town. Each day, we found food which tasted best from the previous day. As all of us are food lovers, it was one kind of adventure for us. We shared, thieved, and taunted each other with their menu. The unforgettable amazing taste of their local cuisine will remain with us for the rest of our life.
Four days in one place seemed so long but the ending left a void in my heart. Same goes for the rest of the group members. I went with a group of people whom I barely knew, and in the end, they became a family to me. and these people make me lucky! The enchanting sea, green mountains, shooting nature and long empty roads kept our hearts. These words can hardly describe what eyes have met. Trip of a lifetime you say?
