One of the most surprising revelations that I discovered about myself lately, is how comfortable I am with myself when I am alone.
Over the years, I realised I have grown to enjoy my own company in most of the activities I do. While some people might find it a little lonely to go about their daily activities such as shopping or dining alone (nothing wrong with that), I find that I enjoy the feeling of being able to have the freedom when I am alone. I can do whatever I want, go wherever I want, and don't have to worry about whether I am taking too long to try out clothes at the mall, or spontaneously decide to hop into a newly opened cafe to try their cakes.
I then gradually realised that this somewhat allows me to plan my schedules more effectively, such as blocking out time for purposeful events, or even with spending time with family and loved ones. This is because I don't always need to wait for others to be available to accompany me to do stuff - I could just decide and do it right away. Perhaps it is also a phenomenon and people are just busier with their lives these days, be it with family, kids, work, or other stuff, and it would be so tiring if we always had to look for company to do something or go somewhere.
Don't get me wrong. It doesn't mean I dislike company and want to be left alone all the time. I think it is all part of a balance, some people like to socialise more, while others prefer a little more "me time". As much as I am introverted, I still enjoy company with people both in real life, or even on social media platforms, or places like Hive.
All in all, maybe it's all part of adulting, part of growing up and becoming more independent. Hahaha. But at the moment, I am finding, enjoying, and appreciating my newly found joy and inner peace when I am alone.
Alright, let me get back to chilling by the pool. :P
So that's all for my sharing this week! Hope you enjoyed reading and let me know if you have any comments! Have a pleasant week ahead!
